Features You Don't Care For

So many things i don't like.
I'm a steel snob, only carbon or low alloy tool steels for blades, springs and liners which i prefer made of brass.
An other deal breaker: fantasy shieds: bullets, guitars, bananas and the like.
Kitsch.
What i avoid : "régional" knives sold with the help of fairy tales...

Dan.

Alex.Y. Alex.Y.
They are… just by a hair !
Good protection I think, as the steel would make first contact on a hit.
I’ve also seen this on other GECs as well.

I see a number of folks have mentioned double nail pulls. I don't have a knife like that and don't see them very often. Now I'm gonna be on the lookout for one.

Blasphemy... All Hail the hotdog. 😁
🤣
Until I heard it referred to as a hotdog, I just thought of it as a variation on a bar shield. I'm fine with it.

Same here.
I'm aware of this feature but rarely see them so it's not really on my radar and I haven't given it much thought.

It's redundant for sure, but I'm not sure how I feel about it otherwise.

Rough Ryder 2 blade slipjoint folding hunters. ☹️
If not for the even ewwwglier than me double pulls ... I'd probably have a couple.
(FYI: the pattern don't fit a standard 110 sheath, BTW. About 1/4" longer than a 110. Sometimes the 4 inch blades are handy, however. 😁)

Uh uh, those double nicks still fail to convince here....o_O

Do like Lionsteel's approach by having nicks on both sides of the blade.

But, reminds me of another dislike: poorly positioned nail nick relative to pull strength. Have some long pulls mated to a strong spring that make life difficult, it's a 'feature' but only once you get the knife do you realize the problem.

Never been very keen on Sabre grind on a pocket-knife either.

I don't have a problem with double nail pulls. It is not a modern gimmick. Take this hundred year old Whittler for example. I never open it with the long pull, always the nail nick. I love the file blade. It keeps my right thumb nail repaired after opening too many knives.

I really like the look of the large coke bottle knives with two pulls.

I don't care for Micarta at all and prefer wood or bone scales. Don't much like gimmick or non-traditional shields either. Different strokes for different folks ! ☺️
