I put it on the calendar.

What needs to be examined is the govt's lack of apparent interest.

These things have appeared on radar many, many times- going 2-3,000 mph.
You really can't ignore that, nor millions of witnesses around the world.
Credible witnesses, like airline pilots, learn to deny sightings at the risk of their careers... I'm more than curious. I want to know.

BLUE OYSTER CULT
Take Me Away ( - E. Bloom - A. Nova - )

Strange shapes light up the night
I've never seen 'em though I hope I might
Don't ask if they are real
The men in black, their lips are sealed
Fantasy fills my mind
To leave this place before my time
Release myself from earthly care
My dream may be your nightmare

Chorus:I turn my hopes up to the sky
I'd like to know before I die
Memories will slowly fade
I lift my eyes and say
Come on take me away
Come on take me away

Come here girl close to me
A thousand stars your eyes can see
First one we see tonight
I wish I may I wish I might

Chorus: I lift my eyes and say
Come on take me away >

How about this one from BOC, ETI:

I hear the music, daylight disc
Three men in black said, don’t report this
Ascension, and that’s all they said
Sickness now, the hour’s dread ;)

Nasty- Geraldo is starting to worry me. I mean, he defended Michael Jackson recently on TV, and will do so again, but he apparently supports the War in Iraq and the war on Terror. I realize those are different issues but he is no longer predictable to me.

If only he'd found Al Capone's buried treasure when he blasted through all that cement....everyone knows the Aliens got to the treasure first.

looks pretty good.. i know on one occasion i cannot explain what happenned at all and the only thing we could think was that it was a UFO...

HD, a whole bunch of BOC songs are about extraterrestrials. Glad you like too.

My fave is "The Vigil" off the album "Mirrors"

"... I know they're out there
We see them coming
Faster than the speed of light
They greet us in the dead of the night
Somewhere, someday, someone
They'll be light and sound
They'll alight on the ground
On which we stand

Somewhere, someday, someone
Will help us to survive
They're gonna show us hell
And bring us back alive

Well, I'm no poet, but I can't be fooled
The lies don't count, the whispers do
I hear the whispers on the wind
They say the earth has fallen due

We run in circles
Our days are numbered
Every night I look away
To the heavens and I pray

Come to us
Come to us
Our lights are dim
Our roads are crumbling
And we don't know what to do
We're sick and tired
And dying to meet you
'Cause we bit off more than
We can chew...."

It's actually a pretty hopeful message....

I actually saw them in Oct here in Charleston. They performed a Halloween concert in the new fancy Clay Center. Abt half the audience was in costume it was really fun.

They played on the street summer before this last one in Charleston also and that was an even better show. I live in the country but work in the city the Kanawha Valley. I could always relate to that song.. "home in the valley, home in the city. Home isn't pretty" cause when it came out I lived in the valley and the city near a bunch of chemical plants  so I had nothing better to do than "burn out the days - burn out the night" ;)

BOC rules. You guys are great!! I did not realize that they were still together. I have lots of their old vinyl. Mainly the early 70's to the early 80,s Have they still been putting out good stuff? What I thought was cool with them is they did some songs in conjunction with a si-fi author. Michael Moorcock. Way cool stuff.
On topic. I feel that it is unlikely that we as a people are the only life in the multiverse. My opinion only. Then again, I spent my youth in the 60's and 70's reading si-fi novels by the likes of, Heinlen, Asimov, Clark, etc. So all of this seems to make perfect sense to me. :o

Yeah they are about as good as they ever were. I saw them back in the 70's and then the last 2 years and the only thing I could tell different is that the sound quality is so much better now.

But of course the sound quality is way better on all groups now I think. The basic members of BOC are mostly the same but they have rotated thru a few drummers and bass players. The bass player they had 2 years ago was phenomenal. He'd get back with the drummer and they would lock in and thunder! The one this year was new and wasn't as gonzo. Buck Dharma is as good as he ever was and their new stuff is good too

I do not get to the music store enough. I need to check out some of the new stuff! Thanks guys!! :D

Munk,

I haven't watched Jennings much out of preference, myself. But I believe the point here is that America will take this more seriously than from many other sources. It will perhaps, then, lead to broader public awareness and inquiry.

Nam

Inquiry and an open mind are a good thing. Many interesting things are hidden behind what we "know".

That said, any sufficiently advanced technology is equivalent to magic. I'm betting that there is a large amount of earthly technology that could be mistaken for extraterrestrial technology. It was recently reported that the US is flying unmanned drones over Iran. Many people mistook them for UFOs, until some American-trained Iranian airforce officers identified them. Given recent interest in "clean" battle (no such thing, though sterilized for your pleasure has been realized in a few cases) I wouldn't be surprised if cutting edge airborne military hardware would be UFO caliber, especially since advances in stealth make it easier to fly outside of restricted airspace and would make it very difficult for a spotter to figure out exactly what was seen.

I'm not sure if it's crazier to believe in aliens or concealed government projects several decades ahead of publicly known technologies, given typical government efficiency in anything.

I'll keep an open mind and check it out. Thanks for the link.

I'd always thought it would be neat if a Politician were elected to the Presidency, was briefed over a period of days, and came out to the podium to issue a statement:
"Folks, I've always wondered, and now I'm your President, I know and think you have a right to know also. Yes, we have a few alien bodies, and a space ship."

munk

I think the movie "Independence Day" is closer to the truth - there are some things that the President will be told on a need-to-know basis. Washington is a sieve, and the information leak is as much a tool of power as anything else.

Definitely be cool, though.

I don't believe the Government will ever come out and directly state UFO/ETs exist ...short of them landing on the White House lawn. Too much potential for undermining governmental control and our own social/religous underpinnings. For me there is no issue of 'if', as my beliefs fall in line with the writings of Zecharia Sitchin.

...actually I was abducted once, long ago. 'Bout the first time they had to change the intergalactic litter box, they rethought things and jettisoned this mangy cat :D

Also a special thanks to Bruiseleee and Larry S for continuing to expanding my vocabulary ('concordance' and 'cognoscenti' respectively) :)

The basic problem with the "governemt cant keep secrets" idea is that the government isnt really the power involved.
To be closer to the truth, we are really talking about GE, General Dynamics, Exxon, those kinds of folks.
They have the money and power and motive and they have govenrnment complicity.
The programs are called Unacknowledged Special Access Programs.
They have no congressional oversight. They do not answer to the president.
Do some homework, ask some questions.
Like I said before, I didnt believe it myself until I hear the Chief Scientist at NASA's langley research center say "yes, UFO's are real."

that's all it took for me to be converted.

.

I can't argue with that!

Hmmmm.....special access programs.......

wonder what it takes to get hired into one of them. Probably not posting in threads like this. I'll keep my ears open.

February 2005 (Newstream) --

ANCHOR LEAD: In the latest issue of Nature magazine, Silicon Valley scientists tell how they were able to build powerful lasers into a tiny computer chip. Roberta Facinelli has more. (:54)

SCRIPT: Technology Now, I'm Roberta Facinelli. Silicon is second only to oxygen as the most abundant element on earth. It's also one of the most useful materials - used for making everything from glass to computer chips. Now, researchers at Intel have made a breakthrough in laser design using silicon. Intel's Victor Krutul.

CUT: (Krutul) For a long time many people didn't even think we could use silicon to make a laser.

SCRIPT: Unlike low power lasers used today in pen pointers and DVD players, this new high grade silicon laser was built with the same tools and techniques used by Intel to make computer chips.

CUT: (Krutul) Today, optical lasers are built using expensive and exotic materials that are difficult to say, even harder to manufacture. We believe silicon will drive down the cost and help expand the use of high-speed fiber optics for all of the world's communication needs.

SCRIPT: This silicon laser breakthrough could bring improvements in laser surgery. I'm Roberta Facinelli.

Someone brought up Michael Moorcock. (sic) Does that happen a lot in UFO threads? Who is BOC?

oh- blue oyster cult ok

At long last, the tide has turned. I wondered if it would happen in my lifetime.
Halleluiah.
this has been a great day my friends.
Remember it.
