Feb 24th, 8 pm on ABC

I'm going out to dinner with my mom tonight, but i really do hope that i can catch the backhalf of this program. even if it isn't going to usher in the proof of aliens among us, i still think it'll be an interesting thing to watch. Aliens are outside of the box, and thinking outside of the box is always a good thing. When we "know" something it usually means we have become blinded by our own arrogance and can no longer see any possible outcome but that one. Does this prove aliens exist? no, but keeping ones eyes open and always asking questions is a good way to improve on what we "know". as a matter of fact, i'm going to set the alarm on my phone to remind me 15mins before it comes on;)

I have this gut feeling, I am going to be disappointed. Too much hype in the media, TV and Radio for the program. Several promotional hilites appear to be rehashing of old stuff. I've noticed History Channel and Sci Fi Channel have been replaying alot of their UFO aledged documentaries and programs, leading up to tonights program.
Now, if I could only be abducted with memory retention and NONE OF THIS experimentation on me! :D

Was it Sagan that said, "If there is not other life out there, it is a horrible waste of space"? Don't think I worded it quite right but the general idea is there.

Well it is on and guess who is one of the first guests? Art Bell.

Hope it gets better and not worse!;)

Wasn't much too it was there? :grumpy: Anyone else a bit disappointed?

count me as one.....but I did learn a thing or two....

:grumpy: Nothing new, alot left out, what can you expect in 2 hours minus commercials. Overall a bit disinformation, cynical slant.
Nice animation, tho.

It was all right. Probably the best thing about it was the high profile of the event. Maybe bring about more investigation...

I fell asleep during it...but FWIW, I have been at Wright-Patt for 20 years now and have yet to meet a single alien.

Well...there was that one weird gal...but I think she was from Canada, don't know the status of her green card.

exactamundo.
In the end, there will simply have to be a choice. You either choose to see it or you choose not to see it.
Personally, when the head scientist at the NASA Langley Research Center says "yes UFOs are real and the govt knows but they wont let us talk about it", I believe him and I dont need any more proof than that.
I keep studying and learning, but I am fully convinced at this point.

I had to put kids to bed...missed the ending. What was the overall conclusion of the show?

I missed most of it, Dan. To be quite honest, i was more entertained by CSI so i flipped back and forth between the 2. IIRC, the ending was your typical wishy washy news program that "proves" that aliens are all in our heads because of a sleep disorder, but also zooms in on some of the absolutely stead-fast abductees (although i did notice that the editing made them look a little...off). Finally, they bring in the he's-Asian-so-he-must-be-credible prof that talks about wormholes and a possible alien race would probably be 1,000,000 years ahead of our tech not just a few hundred. Then to sum it all up, Peter says "it's been and interesting journey...Goodnight."
The end.
My overall reaction to it...meh, i've seen better stuff on the History Channel. Kind of a shallow overview really, and i'm not an aliean buff in the least. I just find the stuff interesting. I guess it's a start. A start to what, i do not know.

Didn't fare too well in the ratings. From the Drudge Report

FLASH: CBS WINS BIG THURSDAY: 'CSI' 19.8 RATING/28 SHARE TOPS [OUTPACES 'IDOL,' 'HOUSEWIVES' FOR #1 OF WEEK] LOW END OF NIGHT: PETER JENNINGS 'UFO' 8.0 RATING/11 SHARE

It's very sad. Sniff. What happens when Aliens are real but no one came to see them?

We need proof. These Aliens are much too clever to be caught. But some day, with a Barrett light fifty, someone's gonna bring one down....

At which point, the alien will turn its "Shrivel Gun" on the shooter and he will have to spend the rest of his life explaining "this really never happened to me before." :)
