yeah I know but.......... I feel it would do better with a bit more blade in there. both visually and using. I realize this size was all due to overzealous govts with silly knife laws....but im still gonna comment on what I feel is better. The 112 was specifically designed to have a 3-inch blade without compromising the grip, hence the disproportionate handle to blade ratio. When simply admiring a 112 this can seem a bit "off," but you won't even notice it when you're actually putting it to use.

this ain't my first Buck or 112.....
this knife isnt exactly a true 112. being screwed together more like a slim version and different blade shape. also this isn't my first complaint on this knife blade being too short.....but I do like the handle setup with the finger guard cutout shape on the 112. so its not all bad for what I like. The Buck 112 pattern hasn't changed much in its more than 50 year lifespan. Complaining about its blade length now is kinda like criticizing the design of a Fender Stratocaster. You can, but there's not really any point.
don't have near as many as your brother Dave, but I got a lot of them.....Yep Buck has made the 112 to be legal in many states. Simple solution is to get a 110. More blade and handle.

most people are fine with different opinions.
There have been a great many variants on the 112 over its long history. Different blade shapes, blade steels, handle materials, handle shapes, opening methods, etc. Yet one thing has remained constant across all of these 112 variants: the 3" blade length.
I'm not saying that you aren't entitled to your opinion. I'm saying that the one complaint you have isn't likely to ever change, so there isn't much purpose to your criticism.
you're just being nice now, Les.....I have 3 112s of various flavors and they are a nice knife. I mostly use them for whittling when I don’t need much blade. I noticed on this copper framed one it weighs 8oz , wow that’s a little chunk! I do like copper but I don’t think I’d like it in a 110. Lol .
Btw, I appreciate jbmonkeys opinion. I tend to agree with his assessment!![]()
doesnt matter if there is purpose to you, on my opinion or not. I'm going to say my opinions here like I have for over a decade. accept it or dont.
see ya missed the whole point of my post.If you're allowed to voice your opinion, people with opposing viewpoints are allowed to voice theirs too. Accept it or don't.
I saw that. I hope someone gets it who missed out before.Anyone looking for one of these I have an extra one NIB I am selling for what I have in it (Buck MSRP + CA sales tax). Listing in the classifieds.
