Feedback on member Surfing Ronin

Nimitz/Ronin....sorry about that, and wishing you all the best on your trades....(and btw, I like your 'up front' style nimitz...)

Sifu...I almost 'demand' to get the other person on the phone for a bit before I agree to anything...a flake is a flake, and it'll come through almost immediately if that's the case...

ML, ya had a Patton Merlin and ya didn't tell me? I'm hurt...lol

Robert, if that Patton needs a new home... ;)

nifrand, good to see you're still 'active' Vito's again soon?

Again, sorry about the 'hijacking', but I've been working outta state for a bit, and just felt that I had something to say...

Phones, use phones....even if You pay for the call, it's a cheap call in the long run...

One great guy overseas to deal with is Bagheera aka: Piet Henskens.
He is a one hundred percent stand up, no BS guy. He does mostly selling of Glowrings (Which are an awesome gadget if you've never seen them) and some knives to support his scout troop in the Netherlands.
Not all overseas folks are bad. Just wanted to make that point.
I know that several folks and almost me got burned by el Schmuko (Simon) but he is the exception and not the rule. I can't remember the name right now but there is a fellow from Thailand who does a lot of selling and trading here. As far as I know, I've never seen a negative comment on him either.
There are putzes everywhere in the world. For the mostpart, we have a great little family of knife weilding maniacs here. I tend to trust the crowd here a hell of a lot more than the dealers that I see face to face each month at my local gunshows. I've known some of those guys for years and still wouldn't leave anything withing reach of them and turn my back.
We can't start doubting the character of everyone who is new. We were all the FNG once. It is true that trust is built and not given, but a certain amount must start off the process.
That's my little rant for now so I'll relinquish the soap box.

Surfing Ronin is indeed a standup guy! We each received our respective knives and they all were as promised. I really enjoyed the trade with Terry and look forward to dealing with him in the future.

Good to see FNGs building good reputations. More guys to sell to, more guys to buy from. Is this a great world or what????

Though i am sort of new i guess, i think its a good idea to ask everyone else about someone. If bad deals have been done someone will know about it. If someone is less than honorable, again someone will know. On the other hand is a guy is ok people will let you know it and you can rest easier while waiting. Just my .02 cents.

If there are no prior experience with either partys involved, then it is quite helpful to ask each other for references (of other forum members) prior to sealing the deal. Pretty simple step.

and enjoy the heck out of chasing down troll scamming thieves. Ireland, Switz-er-Land,MICHIGAN [hint], or Brook-Land, it don't matter to me.

A man is only as good as his word on a knife forum. If you cannot cyber-shake and feel comfortable sending a $500.00 knife to any member of BF, then something is wrong.

If we are all Men of our Word, then the risk becomes zero. Sadly, there will always be SIMON McGlynn's, folks like Ted Woods [gee knife show in Michigan coming up...DUH Ted's gonna be there!!!!] or a few others that I am helping some formites locate, Unless we all work together to identify the thieves, Con-artists and scammers [I just got an E-mail from Mike White trying to trade me for my watch. What a set of knutts. REMEMBER him?] there will always be a few slip thru the cracks.

I have lots of "down time" so E-mail me if you get scammed. It is my absolute pleasure, honor and priviledge to help anyone on BF that gets ripped off, or accused of getting ripped off, or called a thief and let me try to find some answers. It helps my day move a little quicker, keeps my mind active, and hopefully the few scumbags that troll here for a fast buck or a quick knife just might find someone knocking on their door and NOT delivering Avon..........Ira
