Female Backpacking Knife - With no name yet

Brian,

I want to make myself clear if I was not above. I think the knife is pretty much awesome - and I would LOVE to carry it myself. Good work. Thanks for the patience in explaining your reasoning.

TF

Beautiful -- but when I think of needing a knife in possibly cold, wet, slippery conditions with cold, numb, wet hands --- I'd prefer my better half's backpacking knife to have a pronounced guard of some kind --- just my opinion.

Brian, that looks awesome.. You have came a long way in your maker skills. Your stuff just screams utility with class. Nice job buddy!!!

We just did a little trip this last week down here in TX...fire ban in effect, so it was stoves and stove cooking; not much need for a knife at all unless you do a little camp whittling. ROCK6

Blasphemy!!!!!! Where are the mods????

And Brian, it seems like I come in late to a lot of these threads, and everybody else uses up all the applicable critique words, so all I can offer is "WTS+" (what they said, plus)

Love that G10, really nice colour!
As for the knife, well its a nice design, just too small for me but perfect in other aspects, whats the sheath like?

I'm going to have to find another girlfriend, just so I have an excuse to buy one!:D

Agreed Doc,

I have sent a letter to the Secretary of Defense. I am thinking a Court Martial is in order to decide the mental fitness of that soldier.

Section 8 for him!

You guys kill me; I'm going into defilade now:D You have no idea how difficult it is to camp without a campfire! The good news is that I finally received word we'll be heading back to Georgia around Christmas time if they don't keep me in Afghanistan too long...

I have a stupid confession to make on this knife. The story of how it came about in my first post is true. However, I did a very STUPID thing in picking the handle. It was my first time using it, and I didn't test what it would look like. While I was finishing out, I truly realized what color it is.

Grey is the LEAST favorite color of the friend I made this for. So, I am planning on a different colored one for her, and in the meantime, I will find a new home for this one. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up in case you see this somewhere else, with a different owner, or anything like that. Didn't want you to think I was giving you a line about "making it for my friend."

Sorry for the confusion.

B

No confusion Brian, you have my shipping address, Grin! Remember you were thinking of making this FOR your wife first, THEN a female friend asked you to make her a knife, and you knew just what to do! Now make that pink scaled knife for your wife, and then another for the friend, wives come first when it comes to steel.

All around nice looking design as are your others from OTM. I also wanted to point out how you respected Nick's/NWA's 'trademark' pinning of his scales and was only doing a one off on this knife. Shows class and honesty in a business that sometimes is lacking in both IMO.

Brian, that looks awesome.. You have came a long way in your maker skills. Your stuff just screams utility with class. Nice job buddy!!!

I can't agree with this statement as I've never seen any of Brian's knives that looked like he was 'learning' the trade. All of his stuff seems to have great F&F and attention to detail.

Oh and Congrats again on the new son.

Okay guys.......don't be too hard on me here. The wife made me do it ;) But, the pink one is done.

And a sheath.

Clean lines and nice black liners to offset the pink scales. Another fine work from Off the Map Knives! Your wife, as well as many women are going to love that piece or working art Brian. Plus, no guy is going to be able to 'absentmindedly' claim he did'nt realize it was'nt HIS knife,LOL! Now make a smaller one for your daughter Brian same scales and liners and show a picture together!
