I went out and used my FFBM today to cut down a tree, this thing is a beast chopping. I also took my BWM with me and while it did good it was nothing compared to the FFBM, I am talking HUGE difference as in not even close. Like I posted before I can feel the vibration during heavy chopping with the BWM, but the FFBM is just solid, I feel nothing at all, just dead blows chopping. The FFBM is just a monster chopping, when I was limbing the tree it took them off in like 1 or 2 hits. The CGFBM is much closer to the FFBM when it comes to chopping and it's also very solid. I think the slabs should be thicker on the BWM, but that's just my opinion.

Here is the tree.

After it was down

After I limbed it and chopped through once.

Chopped through again

I think your right the added weight of the ffbm would make for a more solid chopper.

It's the thickness of the blade too, the FFBM is 1/8" thicker than the BWM, it just doesn't give at all. :D

Jeez thats a huge difference, so I guess you'd use the bwm for the lighter stuff and the ffbm for the heavy stuff.

Yes there is a very big difference, looks like a thin kitchen knife compared to the FFBM. :D

Oh the BWM is great for cutting brush and lighter stuff, it will go though them in one hit no problem, it's fast and light. :)

If it was the only blade I had with me it will do the job no problem, but the FFBM is a lot better at it.

Precisely as expected.

Now we have Battle Mistresses for both ends of the chopping spectrum. I can now rest in peace ... the dream has come ... hostilities are over ... a truce has been signed.:)

So I take it your pleased and glad you got it huh. Now go see how many chops it takes to make it dull. :D

I wasn't suprised either. :)

My arm would fall off and I would die from a heart attack long before that happened.

hahahaha! Better take along an oxygen bottle just in case. :)

Nah I will just get one of the young guys to do it while I kick back and supervise. :D

Nope, not like that, put your back into it, you swing it like a girl. LOL :D

That's Classic Man  Teach those young pups all about the real world. Oh and you might mention to them this blades verrrry sharp! :D

The weight doesn't bother me though because it goes through the wood so fast I am not swinging it as much as the BWM or the CGFBM, although the CGFBM is pretty darn close to it IMO. :D

cool.

no real surprise though. more mass = better chopping.

still, I'd bet the BWM is a better all-around-er - and love it for such.
