Fiddleback Collections

My collection has slowly (think glacier slow) been morphing. Here's the current state.

Awesome Pic! Best Camp Nessy, old school Bushfinger and Carver around Thurin!!!

I like 'em. :) Thanks.

Looks like you moved the Bushraptor Nathan.

Unfortunately I did Walt. It was beautiful, but I found myself not using it, and one of my criteria is that I'm not going to hang on to it if I'm not using it. I'm going to have to let a few more go to cover my daughter's gall bladder surgery and my wife's eye surgery.

Before anyone gets their hopes up too much, the "favorites" will not be going anywhere if I can at all help it.

That is why I let it go in the first place Nathan, the 3/32" steel was very slicy, but I never carried it. Sorry that you have to do some more liquidation my friend.

That is a great looking set of Fiddlebacks Nathan! Thanks for sharing with us. I hope the surgeries go well and any fiddles you have to sell go quickly.

That is a great looking group Thurin. I am hoping you are able to keep as many as possible. Sorry to hear about the surgeries, hope both go well for each of them.

Great bundle Abe!

Andy has an incredible selection of Ironwood going right now. We were looking over several recently finished Ironwood handled knives as a group today at the shop. Heavy straight grain, burl, two tones, etc. Really incredible examples for sure.

Thanks Bud. Ironwood is my favorite handle material. Your Patch is the 5th from left.
Looking forwards to the ironwood FB's.

Glacier slow morphing can be a good thing Nathan. It leads to fewer regrets that way. Besides, your collection is one of the gold standard reference collections that everyone looks to when they are planning their next purchase(s) thanks to all your comparison photos and comments. You have some of the best examples of certain models ever to come out of the forge.

Even though beautiful woods & burls are not what I pursue for myself, I appreciate seeing them in other folks collections. Thanks for sharing the photo of your beautiful group. You have come far in a short time. Well done!

How about some Bushcrafters?

_DSC2979.JPG

It is amazing to me to think that Phillip owned only one Bushcrafter (the Slate Blue G-10) in June 2014. Now, just over a year later, we are looking at a collection of thirty-eight in the BC family with more to come. Even in March of this year when I saw Phillip's collection in person, it was only half that many. All I can say is well done Phillip! This is truly an epic sight to see!!!

Thanks Comprehensivist. My bank account has taken a hit though :)
