Stop buying knives from the "sharks". They buy all the knives on Friday and put their old knives on the exchange knowing they will get a good price for them. If we stop buying from the sharks, then they will have to think before they buy.

Who are the sharks? Just look through the past few Friday posts and you will see them.

I would just like to see a few guys get a knife they are actually going to use in the field instead of adding it to a collection. I think it's boring seeing all these pictures of knives sitting on a table with no wear on them. How cool would it be to see those knives used in the field? I mean really used not just gently placed on a rock.

Just a thought.

I love placing my knives gently on rocks

In all seriousness, there is no us vs. them to worry about. We welcome you to this community. I've found several gems that I am thankful for here on the flea market, most in perfect condition, some with character, but all fine examples of the Fiddleback Forge team's work. I think you'll find many of us have experience with blades in the field. Andy makes tools that excel at this. But, there are many collector's here as well. We all have something to add.

What I see in the posts preceding these are members who have taken the time to make themselves available as resources to the public, and to let some of the awesome blades made here and purchased here back into the wild.

Josh284... join us. Become a gold member on Bladeforums or even higher, throw your lot in on Fridays, pick a nice knife from the flea market, or contact one of the dealers. Let's see some of your Fiddleback knives in hard use. There are plenty available for you to choose from. Thanks for your input and I hope to see more of you around.

At the end of the day, let's remember this is a sales thread with a very specific purpose hosted by Fiddleback Forge. Let's move the discussion to the general forum at your convenience.

Welcome to the forum Josh284! It looks like you joined about 15 minutes ago and we're flattered that you decided to stake your very first post here!

Instead of trolling our fleamarket, why not spend a few minutes getting to know folks. If you're looking for a knife or are striking out on Fridays, maybe ask for help or see if someone is willing to sell a recent acquisition that you (may) have been interested in. You're probably not going to get a lot of traction with your current approach, and if anything else will probably wind up just getting banned by a mod ;). If you would like to buy some users, or are concerned about other folks using their knives, many of us (myself included) would be happy to sell you some well used fiddlebacks that have been many interesting places and done many interesting things.

I feel for you, but maybe try a different approach -- we're all friends around here and try to help everyone out (even newbies, fledgling sharks, and wanna be trolls). With that said, its always easy to edit your OP and maybe try a different approach

Still looking to buy a wood-handled tux fiddler. Anyone out there up for selling a specimen suitable for fishing-related duties?

Will,

Still on the prowl for a scandi hiking buddy or a scandi EDKarda. 1/8th steel is my goal...I know there's a couple 3/32nds floating around out there but i'm not a fan of the super thin stuff.

Thanks!

I have just gotten interested in purchasing my first Fiddleback. I have been checking out this forum for a few months. From what I can see it is a great group. What prevents me from getting a FF is money not availability of Fiddlebacks. By money I mean my funds for fun stuff like knives and gear. I probably should sell some of my other blades like my ESSEs or BHKs, but I still like those too.

I see a number of nice blades at the dealers and most of what is sold here is at a very good price. I like the Friday sales. That is awesome. I think I had a shot a getting one last Friday as I was getting a feel for the process. It is an exciting process. My wife would not have understood my purchase, so I did not post. She just does not understand the beauty of a burl handle on steel put together by a great craftsman like Andy.

This is a fun forum with really good, helpful people. I have learned a lot about the different Fiddlebacks which has helped me narrow my search as to what models I like. Plus I just love looking a awesome looking blades. There is nothing wrong in my mind with catch a release. Heck I am sure it is fun.

I will let you all know when I get my first FF! I look forward to it. When I do get it I will be using it, hopefully every day.
