Monarch, green herringbone burlap, 1/8 O1, tapered tang, white liners, tan liners and pins, including trinity pin-out. Blade: 3.6, Handle 4.15, OAL 7 3/4. $270 for knife; add $60 for the sheath.
With this knife Andy Roy achieved a remarkable combination of blade size and light weight: just 4.0 oz. for a 3.6 long blade that has a height of 1.1 (measured at the midpoint between the tip and the handle.) In addition to the tapered tang, which is perfectly and evenly ground down on both sides, he accomplished this with a slim handle. Slim handles work on a Monarch because the tall handle provides excellent torque control.
This knife is in excellent condition, used just a few times in the kitchen. I have not sharpened or stropped it. The burlap scales provide a secure grip, especially when wet.
In its JouFuu ambidextrous sheath it makes for a very flat carry, whether on the belt either horizontally or vertically, or slipped into a front pocket. The sheath has been used only for this knife and has been carried only a few times. The color of the sheath is the same as the liners and handle pins, a detail which makes for a nice package.
Im selling this knife because I have concluded that its slim handle would be a better fit for someone with hands smaller than my XLs.
Compared to Bushraptor with same handle as Hiking Buddy. Also shows perfect balance.
Tall, narrow Monarch pommel between a thick BC Jr. on the left and a Bear Paw on the right.
