Fiddleback Forge Knives “Woodsman “ Passaround

Thanks Tony
I had more or So I though I did but my Battery was low so they did not show well,I did not feel right forwarding the Knife in it's current condition....

Nice review Texastony!

I think it is best that it went back to Andy for re-sharpening. I was fairly early in the passaround and when I got it, it was sharp. Before it left me, I touched it up with only a leather belt and compound.

As much as "I think" I know about sharpening and edges, I was hesitant to do anything more than that. Not sure what proper passaround etiquette is, and even though I am comfortable with sharpening, didn't want to do anything more abrasive than that. Not being my knife and all that....

That knife and design is a winner for sure. You guys that are getting yours shortly will love them.

I've now gotten the edge re-worked, and a little clean up grinding on the blade. I'll re-mark it this weekend then be ready to send it out on Monday.

You want me to send it back to you Tony?

No sir let the others have there turn,They have waited for there turn...Thank you though, I enjoyed the woodsman Andy and I love it ... I think my wife loves it as well...

Hows it going Ira?

I know its an awesome knife, but you have to pass her on eventually;)

Just kidding, Giver her a good working bro.

I had a pleasant surprise awaiting when I woke up today! I eyed the package and thought to myself, "Now what could this be..."

First impressions are of wonderment. I have never, never felt a knife handle that fit my hand so perfectly. I'm holding it in my left hand as I type with my right, because I simply can't let go of it. It's perfect in any grip. Not only that, but this thing is sharp! I thought I had my Fiddleback Bushcrafter sharp. I was mistaken. This knife gives new meaning to the word. When I first saw pictures, and the specs, of this knife, I thought it would be the perfect wilderness blade for me. Just from handling it inside, I think that was an accurate assessment. Can't wait to go traipsing with it tomorrow! I promise to get plenty of good pics as well.

I will definitely be buying one of these babies sometime soon, Andy. I think I'm in love.

Awesome to hear!! I'm glad you like it so far.

Ira!! Your knife is done and marked and pics taken. I'll upload them and try to get them posted tomorrow!

Gah, no pics up yet, sorry. I've been suddenly and unexpectedly swamped lately, with work and family. Haven't had time to hit the woods, even. I DID cook supper tonight, using the Woodsman for all cutting chores, at which it downright excelled! It glides through raw chicken like hot butter. I took pics, which I will post tomorrow.

I was going to drop it at the post office tomorrow, but since I've not had a chance to use it in the outdoors yet, do you mind if I postpone that until Friday? Should still make it to Chickenplucker by Saturday. I'd really like the chance to try some trap-making and such with it, and get good pictures!

Cheers,
~Josh

Take your time and use the knife.

Whew... I came down with some kind of bug Thursday night, had me in bed most of Friday and Saturday. Not sure what it was, but it's still sticking with me in the sinuses, unless that part is just allergies.

Long and short of it, I got the knife sent out today to chickenplucker. I was able to play with it enough to get a good feel for the blade, and ultimately, I love the design. I made a figure-four deadfall and fuzzsticks, did some assorted whittling, and took plenty of pics. I'll write up a full review and get pics up sometime after work tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm being run kinda ragged lately. :D
