Fiddleback Forge Knives “Woodsman “ Passaround

it's going okay over here guys..:( sorry for lagging on checking in... i have been a bit out of sorts for the past 4-5 days... i have had this gnarly pain in my lower neck/shoulder blade, i can barely move, or turn my head for that matter.. i finally couldn't handle much more of the pain and went to see my chiropractor this afternoon.... he told me that one of my ribs has popped out... i have no damn idea how or why it happend.. but it kills... :(
he wrenched on me for a good 30-40. it feels a little better, but will probably take a little time and possibly another visit...:thumbdn:

anyhow... i shipped out the knife today to Grampa Steve today... it went out via insured USPS priority... he should have it Fri. or Sat.. here's the deliv. conf. # 0308 1400 0001 4562 8031 and the insurance # VG 889 377 146 US

i haven't been online as much as i would like lately, but i'll try and get some pics up in the next few days.... though i didn't get a chance to take it out to the woods, the knife did get quite a work out in the kitchen.. i used it just about every night for dinner...:)

cheers.. mike

Damn. I'm sorry to hear about this back pain issue Mike. I've suffered some back pain, and that sounds horrible. Can't wait to see the pics you took. Get well bro.

WooHoo! , Err, for the knife!

I'm really sorry to hear about your back, Mike! I was out for about four months a couple years ago - the HMO waited 11 weeks before they would authorize any treatment besides Vicodon! So I spent two and a half months teaching while high! I still have students talking about that! :(

Hope your back heals up faster than mine did! I'll be praying for a quick recovery!

Mike,
I know from personal experience that back pain can really put you out of action.
I hope that you feel better fast.

Damn Mike that sucks! How in the hell does one pop a rib out:eek:

Anyway I hope you feel better soon bro!

many thanks for all of the kind words folks... i appreciate it..:o i have really been taking it easy for the past few days.. i have been trying to stay on top of icing and taking Ibuprofen regularly... it is feeling much better, but still hurts like hell...:( go figure..

Tony-- i have no flipp'n idea how this happen... the more folks i talk to, the more i hear how common it is??? i hope it never happens again... it sucks..:thumbdn: it's been really nice here lately, and i'm jonesing to get outside and ride some trails....

pics coming soon....

Pretty sure the knife got here yesterday - the postman left the little "come'n'git it" note. I'll be at the PO first thing Monday!

allright guys.. here's some pics... sorry for lagging, as usual it's crazy busy around here... my back is feeling much better, but is still a little tender... i'm probably going to see my chiropractor again this week...

here's my little review...

i didn't get out to the woods to play with this knife, as i had hoped.. i did however use this knife everyday in the kitchen... it was a solid performer..

upon opening the package, i was really impressed at the beautiful scale combinations... they go perfect together... i have not seen many other makers do this... i like it a lot..
the handle also has some of the best contours i have used... they seem to just nestle right into your hands... it was super comfortable while using... i fit very sell in my M paws...

i primarily carry/prefer 3-4 in. fixed blades.. anything else seems to be a bit much for me... the Woodsman felt very easy to manuever and use, for it's size... i would not hesitate to grab this blade and head outdoors.. it is a fine blend of utility woods knife and light duty camp knife...
the convex edge was planty sharp still, despite being passed through so many other BF hands... i got some nice fuzz sticks going no problem, on this juniper branch i had around the yard...

this knife worked great in the kitchen... in thinner stock, the blade shape would make a great chef style knife..
i think i need a new cutting board??

all in all, i loved the knife.. it was cool to get a chance to check it out... keep up the great work Andy...

Thanks for the test report Mike.
Good pitcs and a good review.
I have done a couple of indoor reports from my kitchen and basement this winter.
Hope you are back to 100% in no time.

Nice review Mike! I hope you are doing better too. I'm glad the knife was plenty sharp still, I only had to strop it a bit and it was good to go!

Hi Grampa, just checking to see if the knife got there ok.

Not rushing you, take your time with it and give her a good work out!
