Fiddleback Friday 3/21/14

What an insane lineup this week. That bow legged Joe and camp knife are incredible. If my credit card didn't just cut itself up I may have been in trouble.

Man, I've scrolled up and down this batch a few times, wow! That ironwood and blackwood Hiking Buddy is amazing looking. I love the dual wood on that. The Bushboot is really sweet. I really like the look of the non-swedged Asp as well. And crap that Camp knife is just freakin awesome! Glad I wasn't here now, considering the first call for it was in the 8th post, I might have been responsible for paying for the Hiking Buddy Keph got, I just keep staring at it...

You got it. Thanks Gordy.

OK. cmroberts1, you got two then, the Lacewood Sneaky Pete and the Cocobolo BF. THANK you!

Andy...I posted that I would take 004. Apparently there were two others in front of me and there are several posts to confirm this. Sorry for causing you so many problems today. I will not be placing an order for this unless they have changed their minds and I'm just not aware of it. Let me know please.

Damn, that Camp knife may be my favorite FF to date. Absolutely *love* the handle layout. The wood looks like it's inlayed into integral scales.

Lucky guy that bought that one for sure. :)

Wow, just now getting caught up on the FF activity. I was in a faculty meeting from 1 to about 3:15, and secretly praying we had a late start. When I finally got back to the office and checked the computer, this thread was already on page 4! Bummed.

Anyway, congrats to those who scored, with a special congrats to MVM on the camp knife. Wow, what a beauty.

Like the Dire Wolf there Velosa.

Thanks Crazyfingers. By the looks of your avatar, it seems we have something more in common than just Fiddlebacks! :thumb up:

Thanks velosa, I was late to the party as I am out of town for a long weekend with my son and his wife and my grandson. We just finished a late lunch when I checked on my iPhone. I actually was beat on this knife, but the first shark had buyers remorse and graciously let it go to me. I was able to pick up two very fine knives today when there were none to be had when I first signed in. All in all, a great day.

That was working as fast as I could too. I was sweating and shaking... I really didn't think I was going to score anything. This was in my opinion one of the most beautiful batches I have seen. I wanted at least four other blade today.

Just don't buy four in one post. ;) Even I would never do something like that... :D

Congratulations on having things go your way today my friend.

I agree, some gorgeous pieces in this batch, that Hiking Buddy would have been impossible for me to resist. I had a feeling today would be intense, so I just went and played with the Fiddlebacks I picked up last week

Wow what a week to have to sit one out. I was driving to Chicago when this batch released. I caught a glimpse of it on my phone while at a rest stop. I just got a good look at it. The Ironwood Hiking Buddy, Duke and the Camp Knife are outstanding!

Congrats to the new owners of those beauties and to the rest of the batch!

The Bushraptor is back on the market this morning if anyone is interested.

Well damn, that sucks. Lol, being depressed because I couldn't afford the first 5/32 version to come out once was bad enough. BUT, seeing it does give me hope that there will be more 5/32 versions later in more basic configurations with fewer upgrades. Tapered 5/32 O-1 will be sweet! :D

2014 0321 004 – Bushraptor, Stabilized Fruit Malle Burl over black g10 with an orange g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick CPM 154 steel - $345

I'll take it off your hands Andy.

Good start on filling in those holes in the smaller models. The Raptor is an excellent choice :)

I have a Raptor in 3/32, which is a cutting fiend. But the handle on this one is just spectacular. I did want to try this in this configuration. The Wharncliffe blade I find to be very good at certain tasks, and sometimes the 3/32 width gives me pause to a attempt some of them due to the thin blade. But the burl on this example was the major draw for me. I am really that shallow:).
