Fiddleback Rarities

 Wow Widgetdr. I've always loved that set! However, I'll see your woodpecker..............and raise you a scandi version (1/8 O1, scandi, mosaic pin, shade tree firehose). Also pictured is an uncommon 3/32 O1, scandi, emerald green shade tree hiking buddy, and a rare 5/32, stainless, HOLLOW GROUND  hiking buddy in tuxedo with a twist. Only 6 total woodpeckers have been made, and only two hollow ground Fiddlebacks have been made to date.

As you guys well know, the woodpecker is my favorite pattern, but one that Andy absolutely hates. He told me over the phone that this one will be the last he ever makes. Also pictured is my new RLO custom sheath for the "pecker". Enjoy!

Nice raise with that Shadetree fire house! It looks very nice with a Woodpecker...
Also, That RLowe sheath is a perfect fit. Looks great!

Thanks Don, I appreciate it. If you ever feel, like getting rid of that set, please give me first dibs. Beauties!

That Bushpik is awesome, how many of those have been made? You don't see many, that's for sure.

I purchased these very early in my knowledge of Fiddleback's and actually thought, then, that the BushPik was a standard offering. I am not sure how many were made but I agree that you don't see many of them. The other interesting thing about the BushPik is that the steel protrudes out the back of the scales approximately a 1/4". Not exactly sure what Andy's design purpose was, maybe it was the earliest evolution of the Curly-Q?:D

That's an extended tang option. I have a not so older Hunter with that option and it's completely different than a Q.

I actually just found out about this one. I had it up in the Flea Market listed as an O1 but with little stippling it wasn't getting much attention. But one very generous forum member kept asking questions about it and finally convinced me to get more info on it (Thank You!). I checked with Fiddleback World Headquarters and found out it was Stainless (the reason for no stippling) and that combined with the tapered tang and the Sapphire Shadetree made it a Rarity and worth much more than my asking price! Enjoy!

I've got this tapered-tang KE Bushie.

I need to get some new pictures of it - the blade isn't quite so shiny anymore, and these don't show the depth and luminescence of the handle. (Plus, they're blurry and old.)
But I've searched, and have never found another FB with flamey gold curly maple scales.
If I'm wrong, and there's a matching HB out there somewhere, let me know!

@cuda567 - Dave, shoot me an email [joufuu@yahoo] if you want to sell it.

A few weeks back before things got crazy in my neck of the woods I was able to get a Carver from a great member here that is just awesome. It's from Andy's 2012 batch with ironwood and black/blue liners and its not been skeletonized so the weight is in the handle. This thing is my dream knife and was able to get a awesome sheath from Heber to go with it that is like a pocket sheath. Just wanted to share a rare Bird with this cool bunch and a great sheath! Thanks again guys Merry Christmas.

Andy opened up a box sitting on his personal workbench at the house and pulled these 'rare ones' out.
