Fiddleback Runt Thread

I'm a little disappointed Bud. 3 rows with 13 and 1 row with only 12 . . . I think you better buy a black handled production model to even things out :D

Lol .. I'm not that kind of OCD. Uneven numbers doesn't bother me.

Can someone post a picture of them gripping the handle? I've been waiting to get a runt because I'm afraid it's not long enough to offer a secure five finger grip.

It's a three finger knife, not meant for a five finger grip. It works very nicely as intended. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo to show you at the moment.

That said, I have big hands and, while I have a Runt and like it, I've never used it. I favor the Esquire by a large margin.

Panda, if you're looking for an edc I'd heavily recommend the esquire. I just picked one up and the blade is long enough for most, if not all, edc tasks. As DH said I really prefer my esquire to the stubby blade of the runt.

Here are the pics you requested pandafarts. BTW I dig your username! The Runt is nice, and I can get a comfortable 3 finger grip on it. I can fit 4 fingers on the handle of the Esquire. Even though the handles appear about the same length in the pic, the Runt measured 3", and the Esquire measured 3 3/4". The mid tech Runt is pretty nice, and you can't go wrong with S35VN for a pocket EDC. I also favor the Esquire, maybe it's because I love my 3/32" O1 PIB.;)

Please pardon the Esquire pics in the Runt thread. :)

They ride real nice in one of Bud's Bad Ass ISP Sheaths!;)

Thanks guys! Alas, as I feared, the pinky will be left high and dry. I do think the whole point of the knife would be to have the short stubby blade though. If only someone could put a runt blade on an esquire handle...

The EDKarda might be a good option for you. Mine is only a touch more blade than my runt but a lot more handle.

Yeah, you want a ED Karda or a Bushcraft Karda. Small blade with Hiking Buddy sized handle.

I apologize to keep the hi-jack going but how does the new style 3 finger Karda compare to the Bushcraft and EDKarda. I love my Runt but I'm looking for an additional EDC that is slightly bigger than the Runt.

I would suggest an Esquire or even more, a Pocket Kephart! The PK is ready to Do Work!

Is the PK in the middle? Also, will your Runt sheath fit the PK?

Yes .. from Top to Bottom; Runt, Pocket Kephart, Esquire.
And, NO .. the Pocket Kepart will not fit my Runt sheath(s).
I have a specific pattern for the PK as well as the Esquire.
