Fiddleback User Pics

Been pestering Andy for a stainless convex ground one and he finally caved in :D

PS! Been using it for everything up in the mountains and on the farm the last week and edge holding is very good:cool:

Wow there are some great knives in this thread! Too many to single out. I'm envious of some of the photo skills here as well. :o

This is not technically a "user" photo yet... These will all start seeing use as the summer progresses and heads into hunting season. I'll get some better quality pics posted as I do.

This is basically just a family photo:

Whoa Dave! Nice family pic. I thought I had a lot of Fiddlebacks. You've got me beat by one. At least until my Ladyfinger arrives (can't wait). When that happens, I may post up a group shot as well. BTW, is that one of the Ladyfingers from Blade?

Thanks Kal-El! Yes the Ladyfinger is from Andy's evening sale from Blade. I've been tweaking my collection lately. I had to sell my Terassaur :( to get the maroon Bushcrafter but I love this Bushcrafter!! Next up for me is another Hiking Buddy. I love bone handles and I want to get my hands on another bone handled Hiking Buddy but with Andy's contours.

Very nice group photo Dave. You have a very functional set. :)

Like Kal-El, I'll try to get a group shot as well and post it up.

Mark I've worked on this for awhile to aquire specific blades for my uses. There are some similar blade lengths but I have a variety of blade thicknesses as well. The Ladyfinger and Recluse are lasers with thinner blades. The beefy Hunter is a beast! The Runt is my EDC.

I'm looking forward to seeing some other group shots!

Morning all -

I'm new to FB knives and just browsed all 11 pages of this thread (added several knives to the 'must have' list as a result) and unless I missed it, didn't see one picture of a Bow Legged Belt knife. I picked this up from KnivesShipFree after seeing it weeks ago - got busy - forgot about it and was very happy to see that it was still available. Not yet a 'user' picture and I'm not the photographer many of you are - but enjoy...

I love the colors and the rustic blade.

This little guy came with no pants - so that is today's project.

Hi Shamrock

That looks a great knife mate,

I got my first fiddleback from KSF just over a month ago as well.I have to say my bushcraft karda is turning out to be a great user

Now I have a fiddleback hunter on its way to me too (according to tracking it has just cleared customs so I should have it this week) .

And like yourself I now have a number of knives I would like to get that I have seen in this thread :) tis addictive

Nice family ya got there Dave! Lookin' forward to seein' some action shots w/ those family members.....

@Nightfly - the knife pictured by the fire with the firesteel... Is it a Karda? I love the burlap and bright orange liner - great looking knife

Hi Shamr0ck, yes, that's a Karda, I think an older model with a shorter handle than some of the newer ones Andy makes.
Great little knife and the orange liner is perfect for a half blind bat such as myself!

I found a 3LeggedJoe recently and it arrived over the past weekend. This is my first paper micarta handled knife and I like how smooth and warm the material is. Perfect colors if you went to Virginia Tech -- which I didn't, but the colors are a classic combination and the handle is just as comfortable as my BowLeggedBeltKnife which returned today from Rick Lowe's magic sheath shop. He posted pics in a separate thread with the knife and sheath he crafted. I've posted one below to make it easier to find.

Very nice Shamr0ck! Thank you for sharing.

I added another 3FingerJoe to the collection recently and got a chance, finally, to snap some pictures. Here it is along with another fine sheath by Rick Lowe. Rick had just completed a sheath for another member and had the knife patterned already for a sheath - so I didn't need to send Rick my knife this time. That really sped up the process as Rick and I spoke about the sheath and what I was looking for and 4 days later it arrived at the Post Office.

It came with a simple, but functional light brown neck sheath which was well done, but not the way I wanted to carry the knife. I decided to go for a cross-draw sheath this time and wear it above my left hip. Having it ride horizontally helps keep it out of the way of seat belts, chair seats, etc -

Next to Rick's Sheath:

A shot of the 3FJ in the sheath to show how much of the handle projects past the sheath mouth from the rear of the sheath to show belt loop details:

Heber currently has both my BowLeggedBeltKnife and the Convex ground 3FingerJoe so that he could pattern the knives. In the process, I've asked him to make sheaths for both. I have one of Heber's sheaths for my Fletcher Operator425 and it is a nice piece of work. I can't wait to see his creation and am sure it will be just as nice (just different) as Rick's. Once I have them, I'll post a comparison thread very similar to the on Mark (maw) did yesterday.

Wow! That is a beauty!! Both of those 3 finger Joes are. I need to pick one up soon.

Rick makes a fantastic sheath. The one he made my for Bourbon Street skinner is a perfect accompaniment.
