Pics from a long overdue trip with my recluse up in Pisgah. Wanted to get out before the rainy week coming up. Lots of animal activity, I noticed two still warm piles of bear scat (bear unseen) and spent a night punctuated by some very annoying coyotes (which were just down the valley from where I camped judging by how loud they were) as well as sometime later, a bobcat scream from off in the distance.









It was very windy so I didn't have time to get any mid-fire making photos, but I thought I would try to get artsy and capture the reflection in the blade. Didn't realize it was blurry til I got home and put them on my computer...

If you had walked up Flat Laurel creek bed you would have found my favorite swimming hole up there. Hope Ranger Smith didn't give you too much trouble.

Nah, no trouble. How far up is this hole, Phil? I went a little ways past the first of the falls on Laurel Creek going west towards Shining Rock before turning around. If its a good'un I might take Simone's brother and co. out for a swim.

Probably an eighth to quarter mile downstream. Should be pretty secluded as no one really punches up that bed.
