Comp Cutter helping with breakfast. Got the timing right on this coconut, 2 pints of water and flesh that'll be good in a curry later.

That looks refreshing... it's been about 3 years since I've split a coconut...

Love that comp cutter! Awesome pic Jules!!

Cheers Tod, I love my 12" machetes but the extra weight of the comp cutter has its uses. A 12" machete in 5/32" would be ideal.

I was trying out the Emberlit stove today after work. I bought this several years ago during a Group Buy in this sub-forum. The Stanley Adventure cook cup arrived this morning from Amazon.

I put a short, crappy video on the instagrams as well. It boiled 2 cups of water in under 5 minutes. I thought that was more than reasonable and I am very happy w/ the results.

ha. i literally was just looking at that stanley cook cup today. you like? cool pics.

thanks!

So far, on it's maiden voyage I like it. I was just trying to get a feel for it today. I've spent the past 2 days watching youtube videos on it and about the only thing I've come across that is negative is the plastic tab on the lid.

Things I have learned thus far via youtube..
If you cook 1 cup of rice in it and add the 2 cups of water, you are at capacity. I believe I will try a 1/2 cup of rice & 1 cup of water w/ whatever I think will go good...ie...can of chicken for chicken & rice, possibly w/ dehydrated mushrooms.

most guys replace the plastic tab on the lid once it melts w/ a key ring. Only slide it half way on to keep it from rattling.

thanks!

I got a chance to hold some production hiking buddies when I was asked to sharpen them for a client this weekend. They rock! In hand they feel quite different than their namesake, not better or worse, but they do it justice in their own way. These compare favorably to other knives in their class and cost range.
