the oils gets sucked outta these scales in no time in the sheath. i just put a new coat of howard's on them after taking this pic. i let it sit for a few & now it's back to almost the same condition

That's strange Phillip. Never happened with any of my Ironwood fiddlebacks. Must be variation in that particular batch of wood.
