Fiddleback User Pics

Spring Cleaning Time. Spent my lunch hour chopping up some deadfall with my machete and hatchet and then splitting 'em up with my Bushfinger.

Man, I'm loving all the pics being posted lately. Thurin, gotta love it when the Mrs. snags one of your toys...er tools eh?

Some pics of the Bushboot from earlier today. I like the reflection in the one shot.

Nice shots guys!

Got a chance to head to the mountains for a few hours today. Hiked around some and played with some knives.

Roads go ever ever on, Over rock and under tree

Yep digging the tapers very much myself! Just made a trade of my 5/32" Bushboot with tapered tang for a 1/8" Bushboot with tapered tang and I'm loving it too.

After all the years of fussing at me about my knives "not being thin enough to slice bacon", I think I know what I want to get for my brother for Christmas. A 1/8", black bolstered, green Shade Tree, Recluse, with tapered tang and nearly full-height convex. Then I'm going to tell him he owes me a pork belly because by damn I cannot find un-sliced bacon locally no matter how hard I try unless I buy a whole friggin' case!

One of my sisters went camping for the first time this weekend and took the Tuxedo Hiking Buddy I gifted her at Christmas!

Mmmm bacon. I like your blade standards. I saw that you were making a maybe trade, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the thickness difference. I sure do enjoy my 1/8" hb and 3/32" bb. The recluse you speak of sounds like a champion and one I would buy, ha! ;) I love Shadetree!

Now that the burlap on my edk is starting to get some character, I'm thinking of calling it pineapple burlap....

Nice! I'm pretty sure if I got my sister a carbon steel Fiddleback it would end up in the dishwasher! ;) Great gift you gave there! You must like her! ;)

I'm particular about knives, so I made sure she knew that it was unique. The izula in the background is her boyfriend's, I gave it to him a few years ago. He was very jealous of the HB.

I'm sure you've all had one of "those" weeks. This week was my turn. I was really wanting to grab a knife from this week's Friday batch to "medicate", but just can't swing it. And wow - there's some nice ones in there on my priority list.

Instead, I going to head to the mountains this weekend to hopefully unwind. In prep, I snuck out at lunch to split up some more wood for use in my hobo stove. Nothing like getting the hands and knives dirty to take the mind off of things.

I'm still loving this combo: Bushfinger is a beast and will go through anything. And the Kephart is so stinking sharp. Put 'em together and I can play all day.

Cleaning and sharpening on this fine friday evening. I'm really hooked on that Maroon Linen

Nice little group there man! I love the maroon too. Andy recently posted a gorgeous maroon Bushboot that would have matched the others, but it was 1/8 and full height grind so it wouldn't have worked for you anyway.
