It looks like you were on the right track, but perhaps Izzy could have shown up wearing her Bushboot to save the day!Well, I thought I’d scavenge around the yard to see if I could find the components to make a friction fire. With a couple C Cohutta knives and my Fiddleback machete in tow I found an old cedar shake, a piece of plastic rope (that I later traded out for paracord) and a few various sticks of wood. I thought this would be fairly easy. An hour later I tossed it all in the fire pit. Would someone please tell me where I went wrong? I had plenty of smoke and fine black dust but nothing close to an ember.
