• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Fiddleback's Nessmukapalooza (pic heavy)

Nice!!! More pics!!!

DBL, who made the 2nd one down?? What wood is that??

I was wondering when you'd show up Mike!?! Nice to hear you haven't sold it!

I've been watching those Kid Couteau knives over on Hoods. Good stuff.

If you guys are interested, there is a Nessmuk contest going on right now at Rammy.

i'm around... :D my older son is on spring break this week, so it's been a little wild here...

over the past year or 2, i have been trying to keep my focus on more user style knives... my fiddleback nessmuk is one of my most used knives and definately one of my favorite's... so,THERE'S NO WAY I'M SELLING THIS ONE..:D

I just ordered 2 Old Hickory skinners to begin my Nessmuk Odyssey. I have no idea how to make a knife, so this should be interesting.

Wow, Nessmuk City! I love it. The closest thing to a Nessie I have is my Grohmann #4.

Andy, beautiful work. They look right out of past centuries but ready for hard use. It appeals to the history buff in me and the hard-core knife user in me all at once! :)

Thanks for posting the pics! You have a definite talent for knifemaking without doubt, and a great eye for aesthetics!

May I slightly hijack this thread?

I don't own a Nessie yet, I find the design interresting but I still have hard time to imagine why it could be better than a straight knife.

I've read about it, but I'd like to SEE it. Could you guy include pics of nessies in action to convince me of it's advantages?

Cybrok,

On the 8th day God created a knife that could spread peanut butter, and it was good... On the 9th day he made it BIG:

Batch #2. The forge scale didn't turn out as interesting on this batch, so I ground it off. Thats usually my deciding factor. If the forge scale makes interesting patterns, I leave it on there. I hate polishing blades, so if it doesn't I take em to 80 grit, then go to scotchbrite.

Lacewood and Purpleheart... Yummy.

I'll take it on the Lacewood!! PM sent for payment information...

Seriously, nice muks you have there, Fiddleback!!! :D:thumbup::thumbup: ...But, man, I LOVE the looks of that Lacewood one! SHARP... & I'm guessing that the edge is, too. Sweet, thanks for posting these pix! This style of knife is starting to really appeal to me... Darn it!! ;)

Andy,

Awesome pics, awesome shop! That wouldn't be cocobolo scales on the nessie getting glued-up there, would it?:D

Ilbruche,

You and Fiddleback should go into business together! Brucheback Blades:p! (bad choice of names, but a strong concept, nonetheless..):

I think Andy wants me to take over his sheathmaking duties. :D

He can make the blades, I'll do leather.

IMO, Andy makes the best looking Nessies out there.

That offer still stands. I've grown to detest sheathmaking, and Bruche has gotten better than me anyway!:thumbup:

He can be the Vice President in charge of Sheaths and Beer.
