Field Knife 2.0

I have the one on the right but i'm guessing the middle one would have the same problem. The sheath on the left is a Buy Brown sheath if i'm not mistaken. That sheath shouldn't have any issues as it's a professionally made sheath and has larger and stronger rivets.

To answer your question, they don't. The 4 rivets towards the tip do loosen however. It's not a major problem but there is a gap in between my two pieces of kydex now.

Like I said, the sheath is perfect for shipping with a knife (instead of no sheath like Busse), leaving options for custom sheaths down the road

I peined the rivets on my sheath a bit more and zero probs. Love the sheath the fk comes with, personally

Did you pein'em flat? Or using some kind of grommet mandrel? So far I'm digging the sheath, and was thinking I'd likely do the same thing if I ever had an issue, and just re-set the existing grommets, or replace them altogether if they loosened off. Does seem like a fixable problem.

Interesting to hear that the older one is a buybrown, and that those are generally good. The only buybrown sheath I have came with a SYKCO 460 Scrapmax that I picked up in a trade a few years back, and that sheath really isn't great at all. Damages the resiprene handle on the knife, and doesn't have great retention. Probably just a dud though.

It works but mine is definitely going to Rednose Leather for a belt sheath because I can't get one from Kiah

Most of my FK sheaths have rattle. One that had notable rattle, putting a Sagewood dangler on it solved the problem completely. Not sure exactly why other than there might be some kind of tension applied across the width of it.

That being said, I bought a Sagewood leather sheath for the FK, and it's amazing. Will be buying several more.

Kiah who makes S!K sheaths, the new ones are better than any of the 20+ kydex I have from the makers Nathan has used over the years.

My FK sheath doesn't rattle it just doesn't feel as good as the S!K sheaths. The LC I just received has a BB sheath and it rattles.

IMO the cheaper kydex sheaths are a serviceable option and a safer way to ship the knife so as a companion to a field grade tool they work.

However I have no problem upgrading them as far as having a sheath for my users go, and reserve the kydex for a safe way to store them.
