Recommendation? Fighter bowie suggestions?

This one is a bit smaller and more budget oriented but might be worth a look.
The green micarta version has a good look IMO.

Are you looking more for a Bowie knife or a fighting knife? Fighting knives are generally supposed to be lighter and more maneuverable. IMO, the ultimate "fighting bowie" is the subhilt fighter, which Bob Loveless originally came up with as a cross between a dagger and a Bowie. It has the form factor of a scaled-down bowie but is double-edged and has a half hilt behind the forefinger to facilitate pulling the knife out for a followup.
 
One thing you will want to look at as far as a fighting knife/bowie is the weight and length of blade.. I have been working with edged weapons for a couple of decades and my edc runs around the 7.5 inch length of the blade.. For the price you are paying for a cold steel brand name, you can get a better product that will fit your needs rather easily by looking at the bladesmith tab of the forum.. I primarily carry a bowie configuration as my edc due to my location in the pacific and with my past occupations.. It is feasible to get a custom blade made that will meet your specs and design just by talking to one or two of the bladeforums bladesmiths.. I have done this over the years and currently have one in the works that hopefully will be in my hands prior to my next trip abroad.. But in the mean time, I will post a couple of my edc bowie for reference

I learned in one of my previous occupations not to run with sharp objects.. But thanks for the kind compliment, I have come a long way since I was told when I first started hanging out on BF that all of my edc were junk.. That was right after I retired from the military and was in between occupations.

Bob Appleby makes some fine knives. I have a little NY Special of his.

There are many wonderful bowies that pop up regularly on the knife makers exchange section of blade forums, but they are hand made knives that may be outside of the budget you mentioned. Still, I would encourage you to look for the eye candy if nothing else. Perhaps you might consider saving up a bit longer to get something unique and special there. Having said that, I personally think that the 3V knives you mentioned fron cold steel are excellent choices. If you intend it to be a hard use knife you could always get a used one in good condition for a very reasonable price.

You win the cookie because Bob Appleby and the voices in my head collaborated on almost all of my custom edc.. I went with his creativity some 10 years ago while I was still in law enforcement and these are just two of the figments of my imagination that he put together for me

This was the final product of the meetings of the voices in my head and the creativity of Bob Appleby put together based on the Polkowski/Kasper bulldog fighter that was designed by Kasper for his Kni-com program for the Gungho Chuan organization.. Bob tweaked it to my specifications for my incorporation of the edged weapons training that I have had in the Philippines as well as the American Bowie research that I have been doing since the 90s

You mean something like these? I have a Randall #14 and #15 which have seen different parts of the world also.. My 15 was sent with my son to the desert on all of his deployments while in the military
