Cool Stuff, Mace!!! Schmidt, Fogg, Fikes, some of my old heros.

That old Hanson is modern by comparison, was made in 04. After folders only for a lot of years, it was my first large forged blade that started my current trend and lead to my JS/MS stamps.

Don, Very cool. I thought this was a special piece and I remember the collector saying this was your first bowie type knife. He also said he wished your mark was a Megladon( largest pre-historic shark)!:eek: I told him I liked the sunfish...;)

Thanks Mace for posting these pics! Loved the Fikes and Schidmts... Especially liked the Bob Hayes, havent seen a fixed blade of his for a VERY long time. An Awesome collection.

As a side note , the Jim Schmidt folding NAVAJA was pictured in the book " Modern Handmade Knives " by B.R. HUGHES ( 1982 ) page 65.

was having coffee with Jimmy yesturday, and i do believe we will see some new work out of him soon. Even hinted around about getting his power hammer set back up in his new shop.
