Final EDC Pocket Dump for 2016

He HE! I had to do that photo really quick cause my wife was in the kitchen right next to the bedroom and she dont know I have Trump change;) Guess i better go bury it before she finds it!

I see 1400 bucks all at one time, in one place. Don't recollect I ever seen so much money all at one time in one place.

And this from an unemployed dumpster diver. What's your secret?

My secret, when I go to the bank to replenish my cash reserves, I withdraw $200 more than I need, and put that into the back of the wallet for a rainy day It never goes back into the bank, if I end up with too much, I just put it into an envelope and hide it in my office at home, for later use to buy another firearm, blade, car item, or a surprise gift/vacation for the wife and/or daughter.

I think my bank laughs on the extremely rare occasions when I visit. Probably figure I'm there for the complimentary cup of coffee which they don't seem to have now days.

My wife runs the money, I never see it unless she hands it to me.

I'm really in love with Mr. Besingers loadout. (And your CBOB, Bawanna)
What is the sharp skinny silver pointy thing?

Steely, a little more info on your CAK?

Thanks for sharing everyone!
I can't wait to get a decent flashlight.

Thanks for teaching me a PM45 will take 1911 mags...

I'm not seeing the sharp skinny silver pointy thing? The generic knife?

Also some 1911 mags need a little tweaking, my Wilson 47D's work fine in mine as they come. Some have to use the Kahr follower, others a slight reshaping of the feed lips.
Come visit us at Kahrtalk and it's well discussed over there.

Oh that's JW, not me. I love the fixed blade myself, actually I love most everything he makes.

Yep. Exactly. I skim off about 10% off each deposit but I dont get to keep it. Since the bank dont give you anything for keeping your money there anymore then no point keeping all of it there. I put the Trump change in my other "Bank" until tax time then give it all up to the county. If my wife knew I had it we wouldda lost the house a long time ago;)

I been pondering a new house. I hear Craftsman lawnmower boxes are pretty sturdy and last a long time especially if you stay under a bridge or a blue tarp so it don't get too wet.

I've never before seen a guy carry around so many hundred dollar bills along with homemade chapstick. :D

What a coincidence, my baby daughter slept in a Craftsman lawnmower box during a camping trip on the Olympic peninsula.

...
...And a duct tape wallet;)

Hey! Boxes are great if you got to sleep somewhere unexpectedly! Before i was married....Uh nevermind. I was going to say something about refrigerator boxes. Uh... watch out for staples:eek:

Well today was a doozie of packing day, mostly because I forgot to alter my load out:o

20161213_150511.jpg

I started off the day sporting nothing more than my little LCR and the medium Stockman my wife and daughter got me from Christmas 3 years ago. That was fine for the office, of course.

Around lunchtime I went home. I got the itch to go to the range and give my Beretta a work out. Rosa Belladonna is her name, and she is the last gun you'd pry from my hands. I like to carry her in a tanker style shoulder holster. Actually, I prefer to carry all of my full size guns this way in the winter. Way easier to reach in my coat than find my hip under my coat and 2 shirts. I'm not a fan of carrying a 1911 like this though. The tanker holster is set up for military condition 3 carry. I don't like the strap covering the "passive" grip safety while carrying cocked and locked. Also, while I love the 1911, I shoot the 92 better...philistine, I know. One of these days I'm going to have to get her a new party dress for her grip, but right now she looks fine in her stock little black dress.

So to balance out Rosa's generous yet sultry heft, I tossed my large ZT630 in my opposite pocket. I'm not much of a "wave" guy because it works TOO well. Sometimes, I just want to take my dang knife out of my pocket. If I'm not careful, I'm greeted with a THWAK as is snaps open. Beefy hard use SERIOUS folder, but a little difficut to carry causally.

The problem was that in my haste I forgot to take off my little 9mm Ruger and drop my Stockman back in my drawer. They both are so light, I honestly forgot I had them on me. Soooo accidental New York reload:p No biggie. Mo' rounds isn't a bad thing. Plus, I accidentially carried a back up gun that is the same caliber as my primary.

I tossed the 12" AK in the pic because she was sitting on my desk all alone. It's actually my WIFE'S Tirtha-made 12" AK, but I take it when she's not looking. It's so sharp with such a fine edge. You could peel a grape with it after a good strop. Honestly, you could drop me out in the woods with that as my only cutting tool and I would be happy. Tirtha crafted a very Kumar-like edge.

That's alotta stuff, I know:o

Dang Steely, you've got quite the setup there! Love that 12" AK and the sheath it's in.

For the waved blades, you've gotta put a finger over the blade if you want to be sure it is drawn closed. You get used to it pretty quickly if you do it. Having said that, I wave my Emersons out of my pocket 95% of the time. Either I want to take it out and use it quickly so no one notices, or I just want the satisfying "CRACK!" as it locks up :) heck the action on that Scalawag is so smooth that once you overcome the detent, which is wicked strong, it pops open quick as any flipper I've seen, and has much the same sound.

I'd post another pic, but it would be exactly the same. Guess I took the "everyday" part of EDC to heart; I like to dial in my loadout, then stick to it, while always searching for improvements

Thanks:)
The AK was actually a gift to my wife from Yangdu. She loves the knife, but she only carries it on our infrequent hikes. I swipe it when she ain't looking because it's nicer than my 12.5" AK:) The sheath was something I threw together for the Mrs....and obviously myself as well.

The 630 is a very fast and solid waved knife. I always get into trouble with it auto-waving when I draw it while I'm sitting down.

Quick question: Your LCR is in 9mm? How does that work? Or are you approximating 9mm as .38?

Also, thanks J W Bensinger for ID'ing your awesome little "Le Picouer".

Is the big fixed blade one of your own creations?

Oh ya, I feel you there SG! My Emerson rides in my back pocket, so I gotta be super careful drawing it while seated. Course that's where the IBBB on the hip usually comes in :)

Awesome work on that sheath too! I didn't realize/forgot you do leather work too. Everyone around here has such cool hobbies, it's great

The LCR is a 9mm which is a bit of a redhead stepchild of the LCR line up:
"Why a 9mm revolver?"
"What's with the moon clips?"
"You should get a Glock 43."
etc etc etc.

I bought it for a couple of reasons:
I like the idea of a cheap to feed wheel gun.
It's not picky about ammo (crimp jump is grossly exaggerated in my experience)
I shoot it better than a .38 snub
It actually seems to chronograph speeds equal to a slightly larger 9mm auto due to the extra length of the cylinder
Moon clip, once you get used to them, are ridiculously fast to reload.
I got it on clearance;)

The gun functions fine without moon clips, but you have to poke out the empties with a pencil or something. Not ideal in a fight and won't make you any friends with range officers as you sweep the muzzle all over the place. But it works just fine:)

It's not for everyone, but i already have a heavy .357 ad .327. I don't like shooting airweight 642s. I can't hit a thinng with them. I shoot the 9mm LCR almost as well as I do my Glock 19, but Rosa laughs at them both.
