Tonym, that video of Kevin demonstrating the bow-drill is excellent. I'm particularly impressed at how calm and methodical he is throughout the process. That's definitely the way to do it.

I love the countdown from 10 too: "ten, one, two eight, seven, five ..."

Looks like Boy Scout camp for adults. ;) I think I know someone who is pals with the guy who runs that place, up near Plattsburgh maybe?

What's "War" and "Peace" (other than a long novel)?
 
WAR is Wilderness Adventurer's Rendezvous
PEACE is People Enjoying Another CAMPraderie Experience

They are two times of the year when the school is open to anyone to visit and pick up some of the skills we teach in the courses. It is also a time of gluttony and sometimes sloth. We have a great time and laugh a lot. Definitely a family reunion type event that you actually enjoy everyone's company.
