I have had my BK2 and BK9 as well as a BK14 and a couple of Remoras for some time now. I have had the BK 3 in and out of the cart more times than I can count. Pulled the trigger today. I think it will make a great companion to the little Mora Craftline Rope knife that resides in my pickup for emergencies. I figured I better get it ordered before I start looking at the tweeners too hard. LOL

Enjoy the prybar! It's definitely the forgotten one of the bunch, but definitely is a great looking tool.

Nice, tell us what you think when you get it. The only things I don't like about are: A) serrations, god those things are annoying.... and B) chisel grind! I hate chisel grinds! Almost as much as Tanner hates convex edges.

What purpose do serrations serve on the most controllable part of a blade? And what purpose does a chisel grind serve? Other than carving out the Commandments of Becker.

I too have several Beckers I use consistently , but the 3 just kinda hangs out in the emergency box. Let us know how you test this blade and I too will (test )this blade and post pics. pm me if interested in co- reviewing this very under talk about Becker. You do a test and then I'll do the same and maybe up the test a tad and we could post pics and have a unique thread for a change! Let me know if interested.

What is this hersey? A unique thread is unheard of, not to mention unlawful! J/k. I actually like that idea, give the 3 a fair chance with skeptics like myself.

Rescue tasks.
over here pretty much every rescue/security company used lightweight "Tactical Crowbars" like the BK4 for stuff like open any kind of doors or like in my case (accident inspector) to rip of truck plan and pry oben some dangerous goods Cargo to check if for example something has a leak.

next time i use the 3 i take some pics to show how well designed the 3 is.

I still fail to see how serrations help anything other than cutting rope, which can be done by sharpening the wire grabber at the end, heck, you might even be able to get a WSKTS in there. And yea, I still fail to see how the chisel grind helps, ok, maybe easier to pry with, but still, it's a chisel grind.

Also, fixed that for you:

I say , let's make this a talked about Becker that everyone wants. Ok, well atleast it will be something new to look At.

I'm already talking about it, I just don't see it landing up in my summers bank statements.... Or any of my bank statements really, until I start buying knives just because I want them, not to fill a role.

I will be making a car emergency kit soon, I saw it as the perfect excuse to buy a BK3, but since it won't get much use it may not be worth ~$85
Make sure to post pics when it arrives, we like pics!

I don't mind serrations on this type knife/tool as I find it helps in cutting rope, straps and perhaps seatbelts. I have not tried the latter. The chisel grind may not be the best cutting tool but I typically have 2 or 3 knives on me and others close by in many situations.

As I stated in my OP the 3 will reside in my truck waiting for an emergency, just a bigger emergrncy box. I have given absolutly no thought as to how I would test it. I am not a tester or reviewer but I will see if I can come up with something to contribute to that type thread.

Now that sounds like a good excuse to buy one and join the fun.
