finally cut myself :(

"Can you hear me now?" lol

I cut my wrist on the bottom of my wrist near the bony protrusion that is below the pinky finger. The cut was left to right (perpendicular to my wrist).

What? No gory pictures?

Hard to believe your brother wasn't standing around with a video camera and a big grin on his face. :D

Wow dude, forget the veins, that is connective tissue danger zone. Just got a chill thinking about that one. What a first cut to have.

Thankfully you cut yourself with an American made knife.

Hope you heal quickly! And remember that superglue thing!

Holy crap, you were right over the artery . You are very, very lucky. You've got that artery on either side, cut either of them and you're in bad shape. You've either got hard blood vessels or big wrists.

Yea, I realized what major arteries there were in that area. My anatomy classes are cloudy atm, so I couldn't name them specifically.

I have small wrists actually. I'm an ectomorph.

ectomorph |ˈektəˌmôrf|
noun Physiology
a person with a lean and delicate body build. Compare with endomorph and mesomorph .
I hope I'm not the only one who needed to look that one up! I hope you mend quickly!

They're the Radial and Ulnar arteries, don't remember which ones which. I was just reading about the circulatory system yesterday. I only ever remember the ones that are named similar to bones though, like femoral, tibial, fibial, because I was always good with the skeleton, except for sometimes I forget what the knee bone connects to :p.

Thanks for the get well wishes.

I hate the part that says "delicate" in that definition. Let me just say that I've had more than a fair share of strangers telling me I had the body of Bruce Lee, and that is not because I am Asian.

goodlord, you should have just bought a new knife!

when did you last have a tetnus shot?

Like someone else already posted after several not so bad cuts myself I always put a v shaped piece of cardboard wrapped in tape around any blades I am tinkering with. That has saved nasty cuts a few times for me since I started doing it.

Here's another related tip for you in case you ever get into bowhunting: ALWAYS use a broadhead wrench when installing or removing broadheads. That one I learned the hard way. Very deep thumb gash that pulsed blood and felt like I had a turn signal in my thumb.

$200 bucks for any ER procedure is dirt cheap. Walking in down here in South Florida they charge more than that just to say hello to you in the ER.

Never mind, I just reread it, he only paid 150 for stitches without insurance. I was charged almost that much with insurance when I got my stitches in June . Where do you live that ER visits are so cheap?

Atlanta. I was at Emory Hospital.

The ER people were a trip. Apparently I made their night since nothing "exciting" happened til I walked in. It was almost annoying because all the residents wanted to see my laceration. I just wanted to get treated and get out of there.

Haha, you should have told them it was an incision, not a laceration.
