Finally finished small Bowie---shiny Damascus

I'm thinking to make one I'll need at least 3/8" thick, maybe 1/2". Will probably rig up a floor stand and put the platten on a 6' swing arm and grind against my flat platten. It's not something I want to do for every knife, but I'd like it on some knives, or at least to try it and mix things up everyonce in a while.

I for one think it's a gorgeous knife. Some knives just look better with a subtle pattern.

Bruce, let me know how that 6' wheel works out o_O

Hi Bruce, Thats clean....fit and finish look good, and its good to see you back doing what you love,Your eyes must be getting better. Soooo, whats next? Mike

Hey cuz glad you like it.Another Bowie on the bench now..

Here are a couple of shots I tried today,Donna said she will help me tomorrow, she was helping tonight and seen the problems I was having so between the 2 of us maybe we can get a really nice pic.I am also starting to think it may be this old photo program I am using.
Bruce
This first pic shows a shadow at the guard but it doesnt have any discoloration on the blade, not sure what I did to get it...I will keep trying

looks way sweet. you can just send it to me and i will take some pictures for you :)

Beauty knife Bruce. I do like the subtlety of the unetched steel, very nice

Definatly looks better, but I can't talk, I can't take pictures for crap even with a light box.

Ok,If everybody is seeing Ebbtides pictures clear and mine are not,it has got to be my computer as his are so dark I cannot even see the color of the wood or the pattern in the wood,Mine look like the knife setting here at least the one with the green background, the other 2 are a little light with a light blue cast to show the damascus pattern....I think it is just time to get something sold and buy a new computer and a decent editing program....Ebbtide thanks for doing this....

Bruce

Damn, that knife is amazing Bruce!!!
I love it shiny instead of etched! You see so many knives that are nice but are way over done because the blade and furniture are etched damascus and it makes it confusing.

It's probably actually your monitor and/or its settings. If I were you, I'd look into any integrated calibration utilities, or download one off the web. I can't think of anything that would irrecoverably do that to a computer/monitor.
