Finally found out just how usefull the SAK is.

Thanks for that. I was wondering where the RAT 3 fell short. Seems folks like the SAK for the really fine work, which makes sense now.:thumbup:

You can certainly do all the things I mentioned above with your Rat - but it is MUCH tougher and takes longer.

The Rat 3 has a three inch blade - so the bigger work (that I use the saw for) will be much tougher.

I carry a Kosters bushcraft, and a SAK at all times in the woods.

I just pick up a PE OHT with dayglow scales,I have a black OHT PE but the I could not pass on this one.....dayglow has cork screw and black scale version has phillips head...99% of the time I have my SAK "Hiker" on me..I just gotta have a SAK on my or I feel Nekkid ! LOL

I have many SAKs but only recently got my first stayglow, a Vic Classic.
I love the stayglow! Makes me want to convert all my SAKs!
If only they sold staglow plus scales.

TTD where'd you get the PE OHT with Stayglow and corkscrew?
Swissbianco or somewhere else?
I have a lightly modded OHT (got rid of the serrations) but i'd be tempted to buy a PE OHT with Stayglow/corkscrew as well!

I feel the same way. Use to, if I didnt have a knife on my I felt naked but now if I dont have a SAK on me I really feel Naked.

Yeah the Rat3 is a great knife for the woods and Ill continue to carry it in the woods but like I said to at the beginning of the post. Ill always and I mean ALWAYS have a SAK and a Machete on me when Im in the woods from now on. Like I said before. LESSON LEARNED. You guys are great.
