Thx guys. Gonna hit Lowes or Home Depot before the new screws arrive.

My para2 uses t6 for clip, t8 handle, t10 pivot. Other sizes will fit... I think that, and poor quality tools are the main problem.

CRK and RHK have such nice robust hardware, I have to admit the spyderco hardware feels a little light duty in comparison. I also would love to see some deeper hex instead of the torx hardware. It would definitely drive up the cost, but a cost increase I would pay for gladly on some of the higher end offerings. I'm thinking of my slysz Bowie in particular. I didn't strip anything but I wasn't wowed by the hardware either.

Good luck with the new set of screws.

Lowes and Home Depot don't have what you want. Get some Wiha.

If you end up getting the cheap stuff, you will have to use one size larger- T7 for T6 screws; T9 for T8 screws.

Lol so true, i"m using Wiha also ;)
I've taken PM2's and Delica's apart, never had a problem.
The chinese made Spydies IMO have softer screws

Wera or Wiha. Both are worth the money. If a Torx does strip, you can usually use a quality Allen wrench to remove the screws.

Wiha or Wera is the way to go. Never had an issue with Spyderco screws when using quality torx drivers.

I use HAMA torx drivers. Never had an issue (besides user error).

Does any local stores carry wiha. Such as hardware stores and what not?

I have never seen Wiha drivers in a store.
Just google it and tons of dealers will come up.
I got 8 of them and it was around $20 with shipping.
Well worth it!! HD & Lowes only carry the Torx strippers........aka garbage!!

This may be sacrilegious in a Spyderco forum, but I use the bits out of my Benchmade blue box kit and they fit perfectly. Always check your driver by rotating it when it is inside the screw and make sure there isn't any excessive play with your driver before you really torque down on it!

They weren't loctited down at all. And it's definitely not a knockoff. Just soft, shitty screws.

BS.

If you are not using Wiha drivers it's not the screws....it's your shitty driver. I have 12 Para 2's and ZERO have problems and ZERO have "soft, shitty" screws.

+1 on the wihas. Never had a problem with any knife, I'm pretty sure it's not soft shitty screws lol

? i've used cheap torq drivers bought from lowes and home depot it didn't strip any screws. maybe all my screws were good? maybe i have weird high level skills using the driver? maybe i just got lucky hundreds of times? who knows......

i don't use wiha and have never had a problem on hundreds of knives and all brands and models, etc. sure the wiha is a great product but doesn't mean the rest are worthless. sometimes bad screws happen, i don't doubt the op's story myself, why lie about it? what advantage is there for him? too each their own.

I don't take anybody seriously that just comes onto a forum and blanket calls things shitty. I have used Home Depot and Lowes torx drivers and messed up screws. Their drivers are soft. They twist. I've also had corners of the torx drivers break off. This has not happened in the last 3 years that I've had Wiha drivers.
