Finally, Ive carried $2k knives and the $300.00 knife made for the best EDC ever.

I'm into handmade f.b's and folders for the past couple of years. CRK knives are hands down the BEST built, engineered knives for a prod. knife out there bar none. Martin knives made a helluva folder in the Tejas line, I own a second hand XLG Tejas and it does simply everything a large folder should do. My Frederick folder again is stellar in every regard as is my Pohan Leu Bluephin, which I think might just be the BEST tactical/edc folder going today. For a cheap edc/defensive use and bullet proof folder the CS Talwar. I ain't kiddin either. Imfrigginpeccable.

I could go on and on but I won't, BUT to me the best edc going is the EKI 7a plain edge in a stain finish. Just about perfect for everything. For hunting I have a Joe Calton hunter that is SUPERB and a very very old CS Master Hunter. Have found none better for outdoors general purpose stuff than these two. For heavy camp use as in blazing trails and splitting wood and pounding and mayhem as such around a camp and in the woods, a VonTempsky Bowie. keepem sharp

That's why I currently own 6 striders and many other knives... besides my CRK's ...

As I am a total "fanboy"..

Have a great day ... Im done with replying to you... as your obviously mad bro.. =D

Sounds good. Take care.

I believe we are all a wee bit 'mad' to spend what we do on knives. I'm part of the herd - I have an S35VN small plain Sebbie - and my other CRK folder - a Wilson 'StarTac' Umnumzaan. Then there is the >$1k Mel Pardue custom made knife Mel made me in trade for my benchrest rifle. Like my friend, MikeH, I, too, have a Lion Steel SR1 that I love. But... when the day is over, everything I likely cut or sliced could have been accomplished with a basic Buck 110 for ~$32 from WallyWorld. I started by lusting for that knife when it was new - if anything, the 420HC steel with their '2X Edge' is an even better slicer today. Easy to resharpen, too. I must like them - I have enough of them. But where are the 'bragging rights'?

I carried my StarTac 'zaan loose in my pocket, like all of my knives (I keep the removed clip in the box.), until I noticed it's growing 'patina'. I 'halted' that adornment's growth by carrying it in a CRK large sheath, getting the smaller sheath for the small Sebbie (My Mel Pardue custom is carried in a large CRK sheath.). It's a thought if you, like me, carry your knife with keys, etc - leaving the other front pocket for louder protection. A knife is a tool - but if you are 'frugal', like me, or have pride in the appearance of your good 'stuff', again, like me, and want to keep them nice.

Strider makes a Damn good knife, assuming its not a dud.

however price is steep IMO.

however they would last so it could be seen as valueble.
