Finally my perfect EDC search is over

I have both, like I said, and the liner is fractionally thinner on the 880(2) at least visually it appears to be. In any case, the difference is so small it realistically would have no effect on the locks strength. I love them both.

Mine arrived this morning (the ruddy postman was knocking on my door at 6.30am - disgraceful!!) but I was happy to open the package & find a very sturdy blade. The finish on the scales isnt ideal for pocket carry & when i clipped the(VERY tight!) pocket-clip onto my pocket, It was a really bugger to pull the knife free, plus it rides up quite high & visible when carried like that.
I can definitely see this becoming a regular star of my EDC kit though. Im seriously considering cutting a slot in the handle & mounting a blue tritium vial in it, too.

I've found the perfect EDC as well.

At least fifty times.

I sympathise, Guyon, but know exactly what you mean. Im constantly looking at different models & think I'll just have a "selection" of EDC blades (and flashlights!)
My dream EDC would be a Microtech Halo, but as theyre ULTRA illegal over here (and I understand quite hard to purchase if youre not a LEO, even in the States!) there's NO chance I'll ever own one.

Looks like pocket clip of BuckStriders need a compulsory adjusting. Mine was attached with 3 small torx screws, so I removed it and bent to loose grip.
I think I eventually come to SMF… the craze spreading!

Thanks for the info, Lenny, thats a job for tomorrow (IF I can find my ruddy torx screwdrivers!), the clip is VERY, VERY tight. No chance of losing that baby if its clipped to a pocket, is there?
Ive noticed the black finish on the blade wipes off too, may have to have a go at it with some Brasso or Duraglit to get a "nice" finish on the blade.

I've been looking at the Buck/Strider colabs too, really like what I see. Maybe someone could be some help to me...
What is the black coating on the 889? Is it durable like BM and Spydercos?
Does the 889 with the 420HC have the same special heat/cryo treatment has the ats-34 version? Is the G10 ats-34 version worth almost 2X the price of the 882?
I appologize for the barrage or questions, but really want to try one of these Buck/Striders out. It might even push me to buying a real Strider:cool:

congrats on your find. i found my perfect EDC about 3 weeks ago. that's when my Spydie Endura 4 arrived.

now i guess neither one of us will ever buy another knife! :D

Oh how easily we fool ourselves! It is true that upon seeing or reading about a new knife that the thought WILL creep into your head "Man, I NEED a new edc, and this one is PERFECT, and if I get it I'll never need another knife" It is an inevitable fact of knifelife.

I think, it is. Ats34 and G10 alone worth the money, besides it has thicker liner (not like the real Striders of course) but nevertheless thicker one. It's important -there were some linerlock issues reported. One thing: they are partly serrated. If you can tolerate half-serrated blade, get it. Mine stays safe queen - I found it too bulky to EDS, and I need more PLAIN blade.
