In his Inaugural Address in Washington, DC on January 20,
1961, President John F. Kennedy said,
"Let every nation know, whether it
wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet
any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival
and
the success of liberty."
He was talking about the liberty of all men, of
all faiths, of all nations.
