Finn Friends

The small one, mummonhammas right? That has been on my want list. Looks like such useful little blade. How have you liked it?

Sorry for the lag, I just noticed this. I have been in Ireland, walking the Kerry way with my wife.

It is actually the Bear Claw with UHC-steel. A good knife, very ergonomic. Mummonhammas is also a good knife. I have both :) I would say that the difference in use is minimal.

Never let a good thread to go to waste! So here is some more:

What's the first one used for?

If we're talking about the Fiskars XA3, reminds me of a bill(hook), used where I come from for tweaking hedges,

The big Roselli is the Hunter Model. Comes in both standard and UHC blades.

Funny, I thought this was going to be a topic about "Little Finn" style hunting knives. :D

But Finland, yeah, I can do that too. Unfortunately though, no pictures. :(
Marttiini, Ahti, Järvenpää, and Lapin Puuko.

And I only use and recommend Suunto compasses.

Woodsknife with an old vintage home-made knife. The Woodsknife cuts wood like no other knife I own. Talk about capable! Great pics guys and I hope we get a bunch more.

The scout knife is an interesting exception in Finnish knife culture. Järvenpää started making them 1028 and it has been produced after that to this day. Among puukko's it is an anathema. I have never used it so I don't know how usefull it is. A light, bowiesgue knife. Järvenpää makes also a Jahtipartio (hunting scout) with a 6 inch blade.

Thanks for this information about the Finnish Scout knife. I have an early one signed "Lisakki Jarvenpaa" in the fuller. Does this indicate that "L.J." made this knife himself ? I believe this is also the name of the knife company ?

I will post individual pics later as i have some questions about each. One of course is from Sweden, not Finland.
