Firearm EDC among Becker Users

I don't man, don't own em', don't need em'. That's what cops/ military are for.

Not to highjack my own thread, but i own/ carry firearms not only for personal protection while waiting for the cops (especially if you live way out in the sticks) but also for protection from the government. Not saying that I support a revolution or anything like that, what I'm saying is that the Constitution tell us that we the people have a right, a duty to keep and bear arms to defend the Constitution again a tyrannical gov...

ok, off my soap box. :)

LOL, thats actually my favorite gun

Do you holster it stong side, or do you simply sheath it backside. (Warning: link may not be suitable for the bus ride home. :D )

The Bk2 seems to fit just right for now.
but thanks for asking.... ;)

I have to disagree brother.

I think every AMERICAN should own one, cops/military are not always around when life is threatened.

Plus like Guyon noted you can conceal a weapon of choice in the buttcrack.

"The thing government fears most, is a well armed militia"

Forget where that's from, but one of my favorites.

I go by, "it's better to have and not need than to need and not have".

Don't get me wrong, I'm a peaceful, law abiding guy. But you don't want to be starring down the barrel of my Mini at 2 a.m. when you break into MY HOUSE !

Protection of Life and Property. Work too hard for both for some crack head to take either.

JMHO ... (lol)

I have the tried & true Pietro Beretta---Made in Italy, 92FS. Love the gun. Also have a Beretta model 21A-22LR, Made in the USA, for more concealed carry. Fits in your pocket. Probably will fit in some peoples butt-crack as well, but i'll leave that method of carry to someone other than myself !!!

I don't because it's actually impossible to get carry permits in Germany, you can't even own one without being a hunter/active shooter and paying a few 100€ a month either for membership at a shooting club, or for a hunting permit and a hunting area. That way the rich people keep the guns to themselves and away from the rest of society (less than 1% of germans own a firearm).

If I could, I would. Something with a huge big fat barrel so people soil their pants when i point it at them, so I can save money on ammo :D Something like a .600 nitro express.

I carry a CZ 2075 RAMI (9mm) most of the time. Mine is the alloy version, my wife's is the polymer one. Not a bad conceal weapon, but even the plastic one is pretty heavy for a woman, and my Gorgeous Wife's (known as "GW" to all my friends) vanity doesn't allow her to make many compromises in what she wears or how much comfort she has to give up to carry. Soooo, we spent the last several weeks testing all the "mouse" guns for her. Looked real close at the Ruger LC9, but saw several reviews on YouTube that showed that even highly experienced shooters couldn't readily adjust to the long trigger pull. Groups were all over the place. We got the chance to shoot the new Kimber Solo Carry, and were really thinking that was gonna be the ticket. But literally every shot that either one of us took dropped the mag because the ambidextrous mag release wasn't recessed on either side, and there's no way to wrap your hand around the grip firmly without depressing it. Really dumb design flaw. Oh well, too expensive anyway.

Soooo, after handling every sub-compact on the market (she won't even think about a .380....she was the same when I taught her how to ride a scooter; no Sportsters for her, had to be a Hog) and pretty much ended up right where we started.....Got a Kel-Tec PF9 on the way right now. Bought it new off Gun Broker a week or so ago. Should be here tomorrow or the next day I think. The RAMI weighs about 24 ozs. loaded. The PF9 weighs about 14 ozs. loaded.

So I'll continue to carry a RAMI, have a RAMI in my BOB (inherited from GW), sometimes I carry my S&W 4563TSW. Other more "serious" bug-out gear includes a Kel-Tec SU-16 Bravo and a S&W 12 ga. folding, skeletonized stock, pistol-gripped shotgun.

Of course, no security plan is complete without an early warning system of trouble coming, so our property perimeter has a few strategically-placed "motion sensors" like this:

J/K. They're manually fired. No motion sensors! LOL

Gotta say to Jerod, I hope to God that the vast majority of our soldiers understand and abide by their oath to the Constitution as well as you do, Brother. No soldier nor militia-man wants a revolution, but if one starts, it won't be those of us who revere the Constitution who started it, it will be us defending against the tyrants who would treat the Constitution the same way a baby treats its diaper. I hope it never comes down to it, but Brother Jerod, if it ever does, I'd gladly share a foxhole with you.

Our Founding Fathers made sure that the rights of self defense and defense of liberty that God gave every human being would be protected for perpetuity. I think ol' Thom Jefferson would understand my stock answer when I'm asked why I carry a gun. Simple, I say, because I can't carry a cop.

Rights are like muscles and brains; use 'em or lose 'em.

Ruger SR9.

I just got it, before the SR9 it was a Ruger P89..

Dude, I still carry the P89. That is the hardest working handgun I've ever owned! I've put close to 1,000 rounds through her, and she never misses a beat! I'm a big Ruger fan!

Amen Brother! Very well said!!

Me too. This P95 is big and ugly, but it's reliable and extremely accurate.
At the last handgun class I attended, the instructor (a Glock fan) talked about how Rugers had too many bells and whistles.
I scratched my head and proceeded to shoot the center out of my target.

I bought a P95DC when they first come out, and it was a tough, laser accurate 9mm. The only thing I didn't like, it wasn't a good carry pistol, it was like lugging around a 6" 2x4. Real blocky, and hard to conceal. But a damn fine shooter as has ever been made. I had 3 15rd mags for it, and it was a GREAT gun, for less than $300, I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't have to conceal it.

I feel the pain. It's like crossing the border into Massachusetts for me, except you guys never have access in the first place. I have a friend just north of the border whom I leave all my guns and such with when I have to go south.
It's telling of the nature of a given government when they don't trust the populace with tools to keep said populace free.

No - cops are there to clean up the mess after things have gone badly wrong and the military is there to break things and kill fools. Thank goodness for both groups but a person's self defense is his own responsibility.

I don't carry right now, but have been looking into getting my CCW and a Glock 23. A guy I work with told me to get a S&W Sigma, cheap and reliable he said and easy to carry, what do you guys think of those?

Thank you very much Blues. Its just my personal belief to follow the Constitution rather than follow the government or any man blindly. Many Soldiers take what the government says for gold, but I know when I took my oath I swore to defend the country and the Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. I do not take oaths lightly. Ever since the time of knighthood, if a man breaks his oath, his worth is lower than the belly of a snake.

Oregon, I appreciate your candor, but I personally don't want to wait on the police to arrive while I'm being held up in the WalMart parking lot, or my family being taken hostige during a home invasion. As for fire power, I carry a Smith & Wesson Scandium framed 1911 45 ACP. It feels good to me.
Cheers

I have the pleasure of having my CC Permit. I EDC a Ruger SP101 2 1/4" .357. I love this gun! Compact, durable, lots of punch and good value for the money, kind of like a BK2.
