Firearm EDC among Becker Users

Obviously I'm not an AR guy either, thus the reason I bought a Kel-Tec instead! LOL Was it that funky front sight that gave it away? As you can see in the first pic, I cut that off and put a Micor flash suppressor/compensator on it. If you know your Kel-Tecs though, any number of parts would give it away, from the pistol grip to the compact fore end (modified by adding two strips of rail on each side) to the receiver. Still, it came out pretty nice. I've burned at least 6,000 rounds in that thing. Had it since like '04 I think, something like that. Never a FTF or FTE. It's performed flawlessly.

Very nice it was the pistol grip that gave it away. That thing is sweet! Hard to beat, made in us, 500 bucks, reliable!

Any of you guys hear about the recent Indiana court decision?

I've been carrying a Springfield XD 9MM for the past 4 years now, though not EDC.
I do have a Concealed Weapons Permit, but only carry now and again.
I DO carry my Eskabar as an EDC though. I guess its the old knife to a gun fight routine for me should it ever hit the fan.

The main reason I got the Ruger LCP is that larger pistols can be a burden to carry and I wanted to avoid this. I was at the beach last week, and twice was I relieved to have it with me. A couple of days later there were robberies and stabbings all over the area(myrtle beach biker weekend, memorial day).

And because of that, I removed the "offensive" picture and edited out my reply to the po' po' pitiful offended party. I also deleted the picture from my Photobucket account. If anyone (including the po' po' pitiful offended party) is still seeing that picture, clear your cache and it will disappear, never to offend another over-sensitive soul again for all time.

I would appreciate it if anyone who has my previous post(s) quoted would edit them out too. It would lend some continuity to a thread that somehow went sideways for no reason other than the wild imaginings of an easily offended ummm......fellow member of BFC. Thanks, and sorry for the BS.

Oh, and now that we're out in the open forum, let's see some more gun pron!

i'm not likely to show pictures of all my gun pron ;)

Mighty fine pinwheel o'knives you got there Bladite. Mighty fine.

My EDC/CCW is a Steyr M-40-A1 in a K&D OWB holster with 12+1 rounds of .40 S&W Cor-Bon DPX and a Spyderco Military knife with a fully serated blade. In hot weather in some clothing configurations I will carry a Walther PPS 9mm since it conceals a little better...6+1 for maximum concealment and eight round mags for other occaisions. Again a K&D OWB holster and with 9mm Cor-Bon DPX.

Remember the first time you picked up a full size Becker and how "just right" it felt in your hand? That's how it was when I first picked up a Steyr. That was several years ago and I'm up to 4 Steyr pistols now. I got my first Becker, a BK7, a few weeks ago and I'm starting to see a lack of inventory problem...hmmmm.

did you get the recalled/warranteed extractor for that m40a1? :) free!

I want to carry this rig more, with light attached. Today, I (re)found an outfit that makes custom kydex holsters.
They have a Glock 19 pattern gun along with a TRL-1 light, so I won't have to send anything in.
I sent an inquiry today about whether the holster could be made adjustable to handle both 1.5" and 1.75" belts.

Yes. I wasn't really having any problems but I allowed myself to be sucked into all the paranoia surrounding Steyr pistol extractors and replaced it early on. However, I left the subsequent 3 Steyrs (S40, M40, M9-A1) alone and couldn't be happier! As a side note, it was the Steyr Club Forum that convinced me that life wasn't worth living without a Steyr pistol on hand. I kind of got the same impression from you guys on this forum regarding Becker knives...hardcore and well earned commitment to the platform. In both cases I'm glad I stumbled on each forum. But, I will say my Steyrs never sliced my thumb open like my BK7 did!

steyrlifer, though I'm a few days late, I want to welcome you to Bladeforums.
I see you registered in March and then decided to make your first post in the Becker forum (back when this thread was located there).
I hope you stick around and post up some impressions of that BK-7.

Are you allowed to say the name of the Kydex holster maker you (re)found Guyon? Reason I ask is I have a great Kydex rig that's easily convertible between OWB and IWB, and it fits a full sized S&W .45 with a TLR-2 attached. Here's the gun:

It conceals in the __________ holster (I'll refrain from posting any company names unless and until I get clarification on that) IWB pretty good for such a big rig. Here's some shots of just the holster with the IWB Velcro clips, and a couple of me wearing it. Note that you can see a bulge (where the gun is you pervs! Well, yeah, there's a few too many bulges in the belly too! LOL), but I'm only wearing a T-shirt. This holster is tuckable like a Crossbreed, so it would become all but invisible if I was wearing an over-sized Tee or a button down shirt that's kind of "bloused," leaving more room for the grip. Anyway....

The holster came with two OWB options, a regular belt slide and ears with slots so it works like a pancake holster. I know the belt slide loops would fit at least 2", maybe even a bit more, and I think the pancake slots would fit 2", but maybe a little less. But it is a custom, so you could order it to fit whatever you wanted it to.

I don't have any pics of it with the OWB options installed. Could take some if you wanted 'em. They're pretty basic though. Well made, but basic.

Anyway, email me if you need any further info on who made that holster. I've had it and used it pretty often for more than five years now. Looks and works just as good as the day I got it.

i was getting FTE and battery issues, which never quite went away even if one considered limp wristing/etc during action pistol meets - never during target practice, this concerned me... sometimes certain ammo. so, did a quick read, found Steyr Club, and voila, called Steyr, and got told the stuff. got the parts, installed them, and heh, nice. also, different pattern of thrown brass. if anything, peace of mind, as it is my intended carry; only have a IPSC holster for it though (blackhawk?), need something higher up or inside. mmm.

need to check out the other models... need to get more magazines (cdnn?) need need need...

as my friend has said "Steyr is like Glock, but with all the bugs worked out" :)

Hey Blues, the name of the place is NTAC. Just Google "NTAC kydex" and you'll find them.
Their designs look similar to the one you show, and they can be both IWB and OWB.
rlarge10, a SWAT member who posts sometimes in the Horton forum, gave me their name.
Here he is, wearing one of their holsters, with a Glock 21 and a Streamlight TRL.
BTW, they got back to me and said they can do a holster that can alternate between 1.5" and 1.75" loops.

Well this certainly isn't a firearm but it's a missile weapon and I typically use my Beckers (particularly the BK9) in conjunction...
