I thought your were joking too, as I thought you and your boss connected well. Things like this often work out even better in the long run. Good luck!
 
At least you're still a blacksmith. Maybe you could sell some of your work to fill in the gaps right now.

I got fired, so that means no unemployment, unless I want to fight the case, not sure yet if I want to. But I'd like to get my butt in gear and make some tools!
