Here's an idea for a new thread. Like the title says, post a photo of the first Buck you ever got next to the most recent one. My first Buck (which I bought in 1983) is a 3 dot finger- grooved 112 Ranger. My most recent Buck is a 136 Paklite boning knife.

There were no cameras in 1078 so I'm not surprised there is no picture.
no Buck knives either in 1078.......:)

guess I should participate...first Buck was a 110 my grandfather gave me as a kid, which was one of his. I broke it pretty quickly and was unaware of ability to replace the blade, so lost track of it many decades ago. remember my grandfather was very disappointed in me and was the last thing he gave me until I grew up and learned how to take care of tools properly.

newest would be the botm for October the 104 d2 cerakoted one.

I can't show pics of either as one is lost and the other isn't here yet.

My first Buck knife which I still have was a 1989 301 stockman and was a gift so I can’t say I bought it. The first one I bought is my 1989 110 Damascus Stag and I still have it. My last one I bought is the September 2020 BOTM 830 Marksman and it’s a great knife. My son got one too and he loves it.

Yes sir, I was leery of carrying that 301 with 425m blade at first. At that time I was mostly using cheap parts store knives cause a lot of the guys I worked with didn’t have any knife and would ask to borrow mine. They’d either break it or lose it so I didn’t want to lose the good knife which was the best I’d ever had. I finally got a bunch of utility knives and a big box of replacement blades for them to use and the company paid for them. That way I could carry my 301 and say no, get a utility knife! Lol.

I bought my first Buck in 1975. A two dot 110. It was stolen last year, but I still have some pictures.

My most recent Buck is the S30V 110 in the next picture. I came about 4 days after the Marksman Buck of the month, also in the picture.

My first Buck was this 118, I bought it in the PX, 1969-1970 and has been my go to knife for years. This year I took a 118 in D2 on the elk hunt and will take it to South Dakota for pheasant and around here for duck and goose. The 118 is a great around hunting knife!
I can't remember which was the latest, either the C&C, 212 in D2 or the web exclusive ebony and SV30 110. so they both are in the picture.

My first Buck was a 303 Cadet gifted to me by a coworker in 2004. It seemed too nice to use for daily carry so I kept carrying my SAK, but started looking into what else Buck made. Whoa, was that a rabbit hole I started down! It led to my first Ebay Buck purchase - the 709 Yearling. It was attractive to me for a couple reasons, it's size and the back scale was nicely engraved with my hometown name - which was actually the name of a large oil company, but I didn't care.

The most recent acquisition is the 105, made between '73 and '80. It was in rough shape but after hours of work and elbow grease, it's starting to look much better. TAH recently said (with tongue in cheek) in a another thread that Buck sheaths from that era were, "...made of elephant hide". This one sure feels and looks like it! Well, guess I'll probably have to join the Pathfinder club now...:)

Knives on Swedish torch fire log that will be lit on Halloween night.

I went back and check my records and found that I received this 557 after the two that I showed in this thread ^
The correct order is the S35VN 557 in September. The SV30 110 in August and the C&C D2 212 in July.
Here's the photos...

I can't show my 102 because the images are on another computer; I bought it about 1980 and I still use it. My latest was a fancy 212 which I bought today from Makael over on the Exchange; you can see it there. I will post more in a few days.

Ha, well done...we should be glad it wasn't done by centuries later by S. Dali or P. Picasso. It would probably have a thumb stud, a pocket clip and have an etched logo:eek::D:p
id be fine with those.:D
