First Buck you ever got and your most recent Buck

I know, I'm a traditionalist and only change if I positively, absolutely have to. The 557 that I posted in the this fine thread was given to me by my best friend...I would not have bought it myself. I have bought some with the etched logo.

Ha, well done...we should be glad it wasn't done by centuries later by S. Dali or P. Picasso. It would probably have a thumb stud, a pocket clip and have an etched logo

never liked modern art now I know why I don’t like “modern” knives as much give me the classics any day

My first Buck was a 110, about 1968. Long gone, lost it around 1974-1975. No photo of it.

My latest Buck is the August, 2020 Web Special brass, ebony & S30V 110, that was gifted to me by he wishes to remain anonymous.

I've gently squeezed the inner portion of the snap to make it slightly oval. This helped keep it from popping off. Just take it easy so you deform it only slightly. It doesn't take much pressure.

My first Buck was my 301 Stockman that I bought in 1990 I guess, and my latest Buck is my 120 General that I bought a few months ago.

Ok, thanks. I thought that it was part of the model number. Also, my General has the 2019 mark but I bought it a few months ago.

My first is a 3 line 110 that I bought in 1972. A few years ago I replaced the worn original blade with a Damascus blade I bought from Snake River Damascus in Idaho, and changed the worn wood with African Paduak.

The most recent, and also a first for me (a BOTM), arrived yesterday, the Oct. 2020 BOTM.

I'm not sure that I care for the handle shape on it... it's a bit too thick, and a bit bulbous on the end with that flare, for my tastes. I like the handle profile of my SKBlades D2 better.

It just may need to put this one on a slimming "diet".

My first Buck was a 110 bought in 1969 or 1970. I don't know the Version or Variation—that didn't exist in those days. The knife is probably buried under almost 50 years of aspen leaves and dirt in the Medicine Bow Mountains. My most recent purchase is a special knife that won't arrive until a few weeks from now. My most recent knife, in hand, is this 196 Mini Alpha Hunter.

In reading through the thread I just realized the OP specified "bought for yourself". I blew it by picturing my oldest owned and newest owned, however they are both gift knives. The first Buck Knife I bought for myself was this Buck 105 Pathfinder, at the APG MD PX in Summer 1976 and the latest is this Buck 110 Slim Pro I bought directly from Buck a couple of weeks ago. I'll do a better job reading the instructions NEXT TIME! OH

My first Bucks were the two DLT exclusive 110's green micarta and S35v blade, and rosewood dymondwood with a 20CV blade in this picture (top two on left) They were ordered the same day from DLT:

And the latest is my second September 2018 BOTM, Vantage with Ironwood sides and S35V blade, on the right side of this picture.
