First cnc batch, come on in

Looking good JT. Are you straightening the recycled steel? How does that work? The stuff I bought from you hast just a bit of warp built in. I'm not complaining, it was a great deal. Will straightening be included in in the price? If so how long of blades will be accepted? I ask because I would like a batch of AEB-L machetes with 18" blades.

I straighten all the blades I heat treat. Well let me rephrase it, I do what needs to be done to prevent bows and warps during the heat treating process. And straighten any that show up after.

Here are some of the batch that’s been heat treated and surface ground.

its just my sub forum at CKTG ... thats where i posted the original 15n20 test photos you shared and a pass around thing i did, idk what happen to my sub forum here, it just disappeared or something. Excited to get these back! Let me know once you do another run, i have another size too

All the blades are heat treated and working there way through surface grinding. Plan is to ship everything out on Monday.
 
The knives shipped out today. Let me know what your thoughts are when you get them. If any of you have issues let me know. Thanks guys - JT
 
I got my 3, cut-hardened-surface ground and tested. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
1 of the 3 has a slight warp but with relatively thin stock and the fighter profile I chose I did expect some issues, and this is within what I would consider acceptable.
Can’t wait to get em ground and handled!
 
Received my order of 9 knives today. 6 chief and 3 fillets. They all look nice and straight. Thanks JT. Hopefully my new grinder will be in soon so I can get a start on them.

I’m glad your happy with them. One of the chief knives did not clean up fully on the center of the blade. I did not want to thin itout further on the surface grinder as I figured it would all be removed when you grind the edge bevels. If it gives you any issues let me know and I will make another o e for you.
 
got mine all nicely wrapped , perfectly straight. idnt measure them but they looked spot on of course. I started grinding one of the blades and boy this stuff really grinds like butter. just cleaned up the edged and set the bevels...looking forward to finishing them up! thx JT!
 
I just received mine also - and they are beautiful and exactly what I was shooting for! JT - this is almost like cheating :). Thank you!
 
I have also received mine and the first thing I thought was;
Damn, I wish everyone would take that kind of care when shipping something!
The blades came wrapped and taped individually and put in the center of the shipping box surrounded by bubble wrap!
I have not unwrapped all of them yet but the three that I did are perfectly straight!
I will definitely be sending in more orders!

I’m glad you guys are happy with your blades. We really try and put customer satisfaction first above all else. I would love to see your finished blades.
