Recommendation? First Emerson

persian. the rest pale in comparison.:)

8 and super 8 are personal favorites as well. 13 I also like and use often. super 7 is a great one as well. never owned a roadhouse but always liked them.

13, 15, Roadhouse to spice it up !

You really have to get a couple of Emerson's to quench your tastes.
By the way...I'll take the ZT 0630 off your hands.

Get the Super CQC7, the normal CQC7 is rather small with the 3.3" blade. Emerson 154CM is really mehh. Not that tough at all, still chips fairly easily.

sometimes when i wave them they will disengage. then out of curiosity i lightly tapped the back of the spine of the blade and the 0630 disengages easily. the 0620 will do the same but can take a little more of a whack.
Yup. Their is a very lengthy thread on the board about that issue

My favorite was a custom 8 I sadly parted with and then a pimped 10 that is at the bottom of the Mississippi. I've still got an old lefty 7 but thinking about parting with that one to maybe pick up another model 8 or 10 but I do like the bowie bladed model a lot as well. One thing nice about the customs is that thick liner lock like my 8 had on it. Oh do I miss that one.

hows the a100? thinking of that being my second emerson
Very streamlined. Minimal and stylish. Functional and ergonomic as well. A gentleman’s Emerson if there ever was such a thing. A pleasure to use. And appreciated by everyone who has had a chance to hold one.

Just asking for recommendations for my first emerson. Debating between a super cqc 7, regular sized 7, and regular 15 or possible a bulldog. Im looking for a bigger knife and a tanto but like the recurve on the 15. I would love a big bulldog but theyre a little pricy. Im shooting for around $200- $230-ish range and i really want to try the full chisel grind. Im dead set on an emerson. I have both zt emersons but really want the real thing since i have issues with both zts.

Sounds like you need a Super cqc7. Most Emersons don’t come with a full chisel grind. However the super cqc7 does indeed come with a full chisel grind.

The Roadhouse and 15 and I believe the bulldog do not.

Take them apart and bend the lockbar in slightly. That fixed the issue on my zt620cf.

I used to own about a dozen Emersons. My favorite models were the CQC-10, CQC-8, and Horseman (mini CQC-8).

I only own one Emerson. I bought it in the exchange. It is not a tanto. Is the Aftershock. I don't see it mentioned much here. I am happy with it. Does what it is meant to do.

Along with a regular 7 I also have the larger Benchmade Emerson 9700S automatic. The regular 7 seems to be just the right size for my needs and carry. I only live around 20 miles from Benchmade in Oregon and managed to spot the 9700S at a local gun show when a few appeared many years ago. Never get tired of pushing that button.
