First folder Pics WIP

Its Alive!!! Zombie thread back from the dead!

I finally after goofing it up, I pulled it out of my junk box and finished it. Alot of things could have been done better and I removed to much material in the bolster area and you can see the detent hole. Don let me use his machined and stood there with me telling me what to do so the mechanics of the knife are flawless, it was the finishing up and grinding away parts that shouldn't have been what I goofed on. Anyways here are the finished knife pics and hope ya like them. I sure did learn alot and really liked working on linerlocks and friction folders. I need to save for some more presicion equipment.

There is no glou holding the knife or scales together on this knife.

Specs:
Blade - ATS34 - 2.75"
Closed length 3 5/8"
Black g10 and bocote scales

I'm trying to work up the nerve to start/try my first folder. I hope mine turns out half that good. Congradulations Frank!

Thanks Darrin! I am really giddy about this. The only other thing that is driving me nuts is that after I HT'd it I claened up the flats and now the tip isn't centered. I am going to leave it like that until I can get to use a surface grinder.

Realy nice, sure beats the heck out of my first folder, first dozen folders come to think of it!

The only real design feature I don't care for is the notch on the blade, I allways try to design it so it's shielded by the bolster, sometimes I even get it rite. I love the tapper on the handle, it looks like it's comfortable to hold.

Don't worry about the slight gap on a first folder, I'm sitting here pi$$ed because I was finishing a bone scale to 600 grit and the blasted thing showed a freaking crack.

Folders are fun to finish, but they can drive me nuts.
