Nope thy all held perfect. But with that said, just because it's stainless does not mean it should have a weak forge weld. It should be just as strong as a carbon to carbon weld. I even pressed mine edge on and nothing.
I understand, but when one wants to move twice as fast as the other, if the edges don't hold it the forge weld won't. Another issue I had is my huge dies. They'd suck all the heat out of the stainless faster than the carbon core. I'm going to make some draw dies before I try again.
I used a stick welder so I had a nice deep strong weld. I only use my mig when I'm just doing normal Damascus and need something to hold the billet together.
