First Impressions: Spyderco Vallotton Sub Hilt folder

I just got my Vallotton today. I must say this knife is absolutely amazing. Rock solid, bank vault feel, just about sums it up.
If you're on the fence with this one, go buy it.

I've been on the fence with this knife but after reading this thread I just ordered one. I have the Sage 1 and 2, Navaja and the Gayle Bradley from Taiwan. All very nice. Looking forward to this one.

Got mine today and all I can say is DANG !!! This knife is boss !!! Perfect perfect perfect !!! Now some porn ;)

I also noticed like the one in the picture above this post, that mine has a darker, almost black clip. It seems they have started putting a darker clip on these than the
ones they put on the chokwe, Gayle Bradley, and the Navaja.

I'm sitting here waiting for the UPS man to show up with mine. Can you spell impatient. :p

Awesome pictures! Mine might be here today ;)

Hi Cutter,

Thanx for the kind comments.

Hey Rickster & Renegade. Thanx much for the great pics.

Hope you guys enjoy our (Butch Vallotin & Spyderco) efforts.

We are LOVING it Sal!:thumbup: This is a great design and I love how the hole was integrated into it. Like I said earlier, I don't have but two Spyderco's in my collection of knives, but the two I do have, the Vallotton, and the Perrin PPT, are both awesome knives. I just love the blade on this, slender in height, but nice and thick all the way to the point. The heft of the entire knife is nice and gives it a very solid feel in my hand, something I look for in a knife. In fact, with the exception of the slipjoints I have, The PPT is the lightest knife I have in my edc rotation.

The pics are great! I'm just going to have to get a camera so I can do some pics. I would like to take a picture of the Vallotton with the foldover, deep carry pocket clip. It's just that every time I put money back for a camera, a knife that I "need" comes along and..........................well, you can guess.;):D

Keep 'em coming Mr. Spyderco!:thumbup::)

I received mine today and I have three reactions to it -:eek::eek:

Dang! This knife looks, feels and functions like a $400 knife! Well done to Vallotton and Spyderco on this wonderful piece.

I'll post up some pictures and thoughts tomorrow if I can find time ;)

I received mine today. What a beast. Very heavy duty but elegant at the same time. It's almost a contradiction on itself. I like it. I don't know if it will get any pocket time or not. It may end up like my Navaja and get a lot of desk draw time.

I have several Spydies and love them all, but this one is something special. Awesome fit and finish and the design is just perfect. The heft and solid lock up is a thing of beauty. Spyderco ( and my wife :) helped make this Father's Day one of the best!!

I have to agree, It's a thing of beauty but I doubt I'll carry it much due to the thickness. I will probably wear it out fondling it and opening and closing it.

Those pics by Rickster put me over the edge, and I ordered one last night. Not really reviving a dead thread, as this is just over 1 month old. Actually this whole thread made me do it. Haven't spent that much on a knife in quite a while. :D

You guys better be right!

Oh, we are definately right about the Vallotton. There will be NO sorrow at the Dorn house when this knife arrives!!:)
