First Impressions: Spyderco Vallotton Sub Hilt folder

I do not have Vallotin yet, but was able to play with one last weekend, when my knifebuddy visited me. F&F is outstanding like all other knives from this maker, which I ever owned or handle. The knife have great look, the only surprise that it is really heavy. It is even heavier than full size Manix:eek:. Not sure about carrying it, Vallotin will make a great show piece, so probably I will buy one later.

Such a beautiful, well made knife. I am quickly becoming a Spyderco fan. Love my Stag Arms Manix 2. The F&F on their knives is great. Hate to say it, but they are better than the Benchmades I have/had/

This one has definitely got my attention! I love my other Taiwanese Spydies. This will be added to the collection. I love the polished G10, which is so well emphasized in softrockrenegade's photo:

A local store has them and I've handled it a couple of times, very nice knife. The sales people can't believe how many they've sold at the price point they are.

This is a knife that sells due to how well it is put together and the awesome fit/finish it has. I have a few custom folders, and two of them are crafted from a master maker, John W. Smith, the Vallotton is right up there with them!

My Vallotton Sub Hilt has disappeared, and I think I know where. This is the second high dollar production folder that has gone this way. I had a Boker Titan stolen in 2010, and apparently a Vallotton Sub Hilt for 2012.

I like this knife so much that I just bit the bullet and ordered a new one that came in yesterday. Just like the first one, this knife is as perfect as it can be built. Fit/finish is just awesome, blade grind/out of box sharpness is Spyderco sharp, and lockup is bank vault with no movement in any direction. Only change I've made is to add a deep-carry clip.

Just another typical Spyderco!:thumbup::)

That really gets me, when I'm pretty sure I know who stole something of mine, yet can't prove it.:grumpy:
I also own a Vallotton,do you carry yours or is it safe Queen?

No safe queen. I do carry it in rotation, and have it in my pocket right now. I had ordered it along with another BM275 Adamas, this one with tan handles/plain edge. Carrying each for a few days then deciding the longer term carry. I really like the slimness of the Vallotton coupled with the heavy duty build and the thick (4mm) blade. This is a knife that could stand up to some hard work.

Far as the theft goes it does boil me. But I'll bide my time and see what happens. I did a couple of mods to it that will be tell-tell signs should he ever show it to me, claiming to have bought it. Also it is not worth investing the emotions into this as they only make me miserable in return. I ain't forgetting this, just biding my time as I said above.

You've got a good handle on the emotions:thumbup:..My brother lost my house to the bank when I was away for a time.
He was living in the house' and all I asked was make the monthly payments, just like when he was renting.
I don't dwell on it anymore, if I did, it would be like poison to my system.

WOW! My knife loss seems miniscule to a house. But whatever it is, dwelling on it is not healthy at all, and can lead to emotional distress and physical ailments.

Btw, put the BM in my pocket this morning, so come the weekend we will see who get's the most pocket time.
