That's a good looking knife, congrats! What you might want to try is to find a piece of hardwood, something like oak or similar, which is nice and dry. If it has knots in it, all the better. Baton your blade through that, even if you really have to put the wood to it. This will check your handle integrity, and the knots will challenge your blade's temper.

Oh sorry I never really gave any stats.

It's 01 steel.
The handle is silver black dymondwood.
It's a 4 1/4" handle and a 3 1/2" blade.

I can't thank John enough. I don't want to get all sappy on you guys, but he really made a dream come true for me. Not being a big machine-type guy, the prospect of making knives seemed WAY out of reach. John made it happen. It wouldn't have happened without him.
