Hey guys. What was your first knife? Do you still Have it? Why did you choose that one?
I got The Gerber F.A.S.T. Draw because with my pre-Knife Nut knowledge i thought The A/O was amazing. Still got it today.

Schrade cliphanger. Needed it for my job, seemed like a good one.

If I had not become a cutlery enthusiast, it would probably serve me quite well to this day...

Mine was a piece of crap that I got off of eBay for $15. It appealed to me because it had a U.S.M.C Sniper on it and his spotter. I don't have it anymore, because I was witteling a stick with it and it started to have TREMENDOUS blade play so I took it apart to just have a look around and didn't feel like putting it back together so I threw it away.

A Richards (of Sheffield) 'Little Chief' slip-joint given to me as a young child. Absolutely no idea what happened to it. Richards knives were notoriously pieces of junk.

Well, the first one I remember was a fixed blade. Unmarked but similar to an Imperial. Bowie style blade about 5.5 inches, black plastic scales grooved to look like bone or antler. I've owned it for over 60 years. Didn't buy it. Collected and saved Popsicle wrappers until I had enough to redeem for the knife. Saw a lot of hard use by a 6 year old boy growing up on a ranch.

These are my first two knives. My first was the ParkerBrothers, on top, that my dad got me at a gun show when I was 5 ( I'm 32 now). My second knife was the Gerber 500 that I got when I was 7.

A small black plastic handle lockback that was sold from a loose container at a B&M local pharmacy when I was a kid. I don't remember the brand. What I do remember is how awesome my friends and I felt having each bought one after a few weeks of saving. Running around the woods with the knives and flashlights at night. Fun times. I no longer have it.

And... yeah, nobody cared that you were a kid buying a folding knife back then. ;)

My first knife was a Case XX Arapaho in the early 80's. The original one was stolen in a house burglary, but I bought a guys safe queen about 7 or 8 years ago. I am hoping to give it to my son someday when he is old enough.

I love the stories you guys! Keep em comin. Glad to hear guys are keepin your firsts. Sorry to hear about the theft cOLD.

I think I was 7-8 when I got my first knife. It was a Vic sak. Shortly therafter... The one I remember most was my schrade muskrat. I lost it and wish I still had that one instead.

My first knife was an ESEE 5. I bought it for backpacking, than quickly realized that it was much too heavy for that. I still have it.

My first knife was a Case med. stockman with yellow delrin handles. I lost it, but eventually i got another one.

Got my first knife, a sak mountaineer, my dad bought me from a sak shop in Switzerland when I was 10. Still have it of course;)

I got a cheap chinese folder with a dear on the handle. Until it disappeared mysteriously... I think that if or when i have a child the first knife im going to get him is a Chris Reeve Sebenza.

my first was a 110 that my dad bought me because i loved his. i was only 5, so of course he didnt turn me loose with it, it stayed in the top of the closet with his hunting "stuff". when i was old enough he gave it to me and OF COURSE i lost it a few years later in the field. but i do have my second, an old Imperial he bought me a year or two later, and i was allowed to have this one. carried it in my pocket clear up to middle school and then put it up. just found it the other day, packed away in my closet. holding it brings back alotta memories.
