First Knife You Ever owned?

My first knife was a Military Demo knife, dated 1967, made by Camillus, when I was in the Cub Scouts. I found it on the ground and put it in my pocket and never said a word. My mom found it under my bed and took it away from me. That night, my dad was watching the movie, Walking Tall, and she told him what she found in my room. He told her to give it back to me and that made me the happiest boy in the world. I still have that knife and I am 40 now. I was 8, at the time.

Providence Cutlery Barlow, Dad gave it to me on my 7th birthday and yes...I immediately cut myself with it. Still have it and still carry it. It is the 2nd from the left on the top row...

Yeah..my first knife:

My first folder was a sak, that I broke a scale of, replaced it with a crudely shaped piece of wood, just so I could later break the main blade and eventually loose it. Still, I'd like to have it back.

This is my second folder:

(as you can see, I honed my sharpening skills on this one, I still carry and use it too.

Thats great you still have that!

My first knife was a Spyderco Delica with the molded in clip. My dad gave it to me in like the 3rd grade. I broke the clip after a couple of years and then lost it in the river on a fishing trip.

Mine was a Spanish scout pattern with black metal scales inlaid with brass birds leaves and vines. I sharpened that main spear point blade into a recurve within the first year. I was six when I got it and kept it until my first divorce. I was sooooo proud to have a big boy knife. Thanks for sparking the memory.

An Erikson Mora with a double guard that I stole out of my father's tool box when I was in kindergarten. He had gotten it from my grandfather not long before and it was well used, so he didn't mind. What he did mind was me cutting myself with it trying to stab bottle caps on the kitchen floor. :D

I still have it.

Edit: Looking at their current selection, it's a knife that they no longer produce. It's pretty high quality for a mora. Burl handle and steel butt cap.

My Dad gave me a pocketknife when I was six. It was a painted metal scaled single bladed cheapie that came with a chain and a gadget to hook onto a button. This was in the early 50's, so I can't remember exactly what it was, but I do remember Mom took it out on the concrete porch and rounded the point and dulled it so it wasn't much good for anything. But, by God I had a pocketknife!

Imperial stag delrin small Stockman w/carbon blades found in our yard while playing as a kid. Its was dull so my folks let me keep it; I was 7 yrs. old.

a SAK that had everything but the kitchen sink. I proudly carried that thing for about two weeks until I finally decided that it was just to darn bulky for a 5 year old to carry around.

Some of my first memories include slippies. Really...they do; about 3 years old or so.

The first knife that I really remember being given and carrying was a scout knife with a couple different tools. My dad gave it to me as a birthday present. I'm not sure whatever happened to it, but I wish I still had it.

I'm 33...so I guess it was 26-27 years ago. My parents got me a Victorinox Champion that I still have. It rides in my glovebox at all times. I broke it out a while back and showed my dad that I still have it and that I sharpened it until it will shave. He was pretty tickled :D
